What next after your One X ?

Just looking on the web about the next generation of smart phones and I was thinking maybe I'll move away from my HTC One X to the Galaxy S4 over the next few months. The One X is my 5th HTC phone but I think I need a change. And I was a little annoyed they released the X+ soon after the One X. So who is planning to change their phone brand over the next few months? and why?

Being in Australia on Telstra I'm a little limited with phones that are able to do voice & sms across 850mHz as well as doing 3G/LTE seamlessly ... Looking into the HTC M7 tho, looks quite nice.

Galaxy series are nice, I just find their interface - touchwiz - to be very childish compared to sense :/

I can upgrade anytime at minimal cost so I'll be monitoring this thread for options ;)

I'm waiting on the htc m7 or may even go for the sgs4, it'll most probably be one of those two. I hated touchwiz but after getting my galaxy tab 2 I'm getting used to it.

They've refined it and made it a lot less in your face than it was before IMO. I upgraded my Mums SGS2 to ICS last weekend and I was (relatively) impressed with what they've done with Touchwiz of late. To the point, that like yourself, I'd probably consider a Samsung now. I'm also of the opinion that no matter what phone I get, it wouldn't be running the stock software for long anyway. :p

The other good thing about Samsung, they'll release a flagship device and it will be a flagship device for at least a year.

Don't get me wrong, I love the One X and HTC, but whereas before I was only interested in HTC, I'm def more open to other brands now.

I'm undecided what to do next......i still love my One x, but am due an upgrade from today.

I'm liking the look of the Experia Z at the minute, but am holding off until MWC to see what else is on the horizon (the M7 looks like it might be a tempting choice as well) , in which case i will let my contract go the full 12 months before changing.

Although i am very tempted to stay with what i have and try and grab an iphone 5 as my upgrade and punt it on Ebay for

Agree with that pres, I'm still not blown away by the s3 screen and looks but they are moving in the right direction with the UI and think the next one might have the balance right.

One X+ still boils my piss a little, just for the battery power and how quickly it was released, it had the effect of making One X users feel a little cheated tbh

they did the same with the Desire and Desire HD tho

I do like the One X and the build quality but I do like to have the option of upgrading the battery with say a mugen one. I'd still prefer external storage too.
I'm on contract too and its not up until October but I'm thinking of going sim free this time as I don't like having to wait for a network to release their bloatwear on the manufacturers software. Either way my choices will probably be between the H7, GS4, and the nexus 5, decisions,decisions...

It's the first htc I've had so wasn't aware of that but having a flagship phone only be a flagship for 5months is a bad strategy and makes me not want to invest in their flagship again, love the design and think sense is the best manufacturer UI but will be hesitant to get their phone straight away if something else is coming a few months down the line.

Really fancy the next Nexus if it has great specs and I could actually get one :D

I will probably buy a Nexus devise out of contract (hopefully Nexus 5) unless it is another shit storm like the Nexus 4 has been.... I was going to order a 4 a couple of weeks ago but neither were in stock, but there is nothing new about that.
If a nexus is just looking like crap then I will probably buy the Note 2 or 3, or maybe the GS4.

I have used HTC for a few years now. I got the one x on day one of release great phone more than happy, but like me jcdub I was really fed up when the x+ came out a couple of months later and then there's been the dragging of the heels with he JB update I have lost a bit of faith. Since having a Nexus 7 I am now leaning towards a Nexus phone. It is a while off yet before I can change but my loyalty to HTC is waining.

Im in two minds still, (not that it matters really as i cant upgrade till July 2014!)

I still prefer the HTC One X on a personally
But after the reliability troubles i've had with the one X i'd be more open to looking at other phones,

especially after having ago on the S3 and the Nokia Lumia 810 this weekend and been impressed with both.

One of the security guards at work has the nokia and is feels very, very nice. Don't know if I'd be willing to make the jump to the Windows OS, but it still felt like a cracking handset.

Shame Nokia went with Windows instead of Android (although you never know what will happen).

I agree it is a very good build quality on the phone and the camera on it is very good.

I was more impressed with windows than I thought I would be, its very user friendly and fast,

Personally though the App store is still abit limited for my liking (although I didnt get long to go on it so I may be wrong) and I like changing the wallpaper and theme of my one X at least once every couple of weeks which I couldn't do on a windows phone (all you can change is the lock screen picture and the colour of the tiles)
