Root [Verizon] What is that Flickering in GS3 Email (stock)

This is a problem that has been vexing me. When I flash a ROM and set things up, I notice an annoying flickering of the GS3 screen when I scroll down a message. It happens with multiple ROMs (one notable exception is Clean Rom. Reflashing does not help.

Now before I get flamed, I did a search on it (here and on the internet) and received no answer. There was one suggestion that the SwiftKey keyboard was the culprit. So I uninstalled SwiftKey to no avail.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

I have not heard of that nor seen it on mine. You noted that it does not happen on the Cleanrom, which I have only ran so far.
Does this happen on Gmail also?

There are a couple of Roms where it doesn't happen. Clean Rom was one. I referenced it because that Rom is near stock and flawless in my hands. I don't have the problem with Vengeance or CS Rom.

What i see is a flickering (darkening of the screen) as I scroll down an email as I read it. So I do not see it if I scroll down the inbox it self. But after selecting an email, the screen flickers when I scroll through the individual email.

I do not see the same thing in gmail nor if i use something like Touchdown.

One suggestion I received was to uncheck "force GPU rendering" under developer option. I have also read that the SwiftKey keyboard is the culprit. I have no certain answers, though. I have even flashed a Rom, initially have everything work fine, then suddenly the flickering begins (even with the suggested settings).

I was having the same annoying problem of screen flickering and it was bugging the hell outta me. So i did some searching and came across this thread and unchecking the "force gpu rendering" fixed the problem. Many thanks. One question though, does unchecking that option affect anything else on my phone?
