Ok so I rooted my triumph with the gingerbreak app then I decided i didn't want it root anymore and unistalled busybox and superuser. I don't remember if I unrooted with gingerbreak before reseting my phone, anyways after resetting my triumph I got bored and tried rooting it with gingerbreak again but it stops and says *Error*-could not extract assets.
I tried the terminal method but it says "ls: could not be found" by the way the micro usb port is busted so i can't just put CWM on it and install a rom with root. So I hope aomeone might be able to help me with rooting this phone. *Thanks!* -And sorry for the horrible grammar

Try doing a factory reset then rooting it.There is also an app I think that can tell if you are still rooted or not.

If you have never used the terminal emmulator as ROOT then you could go to it and type "su" and if it pops up asking for your permission to allow root access then you are rooted. If you have a root file explorer then you could look at /system/xbin and see if "ls" is there. You would have to be rooted to look, but just try.

RollaAddict, I've already tried factory reseting it. I'm thinking I might have deleted some system files, so factory resets are useless and the root apps say I'm not rooted.
dsmryder, when I type su into terminal I get

Su: not found.

I don't think you have to be rooted to see system files. I looked in xbin for ls and there was nothing there.

Well that can explain a lot. If you flash a ROM one of the things that is done is the /system partition is basicly replaced. I don't know if it could work, but you could try pulling the binaries from an extracted ROM to the xbin and bin directories.

In the OP she said that the micro usb port is busted.

So, how can she install a custom recovery without a working usb port?

If the TE will work then she could use it to copy the files over from her sdcard and then ask us how to fix the permissions. It's not hard when someone has "su" access. With out it I don't know of a way to fix this yet.
