Device Options (Power Button) - Restart?

Can anyone help me and explain the function of "Restart" under Device Options (when you hold the power button for a couple seconds)?

Is the restart option the same as doing a reboot (holding the power button for 10-12 seconds)?

Yes. Restart and reboot means the same thing.

That's one you could have tested yourself

Thanks, was just curious. I just switched over from iPhone so I'm definitely in the learning process with this phone. Any time folks describe rebooting this device, they say to hold the power button down for 10+ seconds. I've never heard anyone say "Press the power button and choose restart" so I figured restart wasn't a full reboot.. or something

Doesnt holding in the power button in until the phone reboots do something different than a normal reboot though? (Someone reccomended i do it when i was having big problems and it worked (or was coincidence.... id already tried the batt' pull etc)
