Im fairly sure the stock charger charges faster than the rest..

My MHL-HDMI adaptor which connects phone to tv requires a micro usb charger be plugged in.
With the stock charger, the phone (slowly) charges.
With blackberry, sony or generic micro usb chargers, the battery (slowly) dies.

Why would this be?
Its annoyin coz both my sammy charges are falling apart (theyre the one piece ones with nice long cable... think other countries got the ones with detatchable usb lead?)

Here in the U.S., we get the charger w/the detachable USB cord & it indeed does charge faster than any of the other options I've chosen.

I've even tried another well-known smartphone manufacturers similarly rated charger w/the USB cord detachable & it doesn't seem to charge as quickly as the SAMSUNG charger.

I also had the same experience w/a SAMSUNG one-piece A/C charger:it works, but,it's nowhere near as quick as the 2pc unit that came w/my SGS III from SPRINT.

Every other android ive had has had the 2piece charger but even this 1piece one (i like it coz the cables long and thin n i use the phone plugged in a lot) definately charges faster than other brands.
I read somewhere that theres a difference in the pins so the phone "knows" its on a sammy charger and u can solder two pins together on any charger to make it a "samsung" but tbh it sounded like BS, i duno.
Its just annoying im gona have to buy a new oem charger when samsung are already in my bad-books grr.
Either that or i can JUST watch a movie on Netflix or MovieTube via the tv then have to charge battery again. I had my cpu runnin at 300mhz and brightness at minimum n it still discharged while plugged into tv...

Most micro usb chargers are only 500ma, newer chargers after often 1amp or 2,

For example I cant even use the USB port in my jeep to charge my phone because it cant keep up if I am using gps and google maps. I purchased a generic 2amp charger and it works perfect.

Use the stweaks app which comes with siyah kernel to increase the mA for the usb charger under misc settings. Be careful when plugging it into your pc though as some usb ports won't like it.

I'm in the UK and I got a 2-piece Samsung charger with detachable USB cable. But I don't always use it because I have found that my Amazon Kindle 2-piece charger is just as good as the Samsung. I interchange them with one near my PC and one near my bed.

the original charger i got with my international s3(detachable data cable + charger) actually does not charge my phone. it is very temperamental sometimes it charges the phone and other times i have left it on charge for almost 8 hours and the battery has fallen. I ended up picking up an official extra charger from the samsung store and that works great with my s3.

Was yours carrier locked mate?
Thats strange.
Loved my kindle charger, nice n long but it became volatile (gota hold it at certain angle) as did my mums

As the hdmi adapter registers as usb charging but technically isn't for that purpose I've never had any problems putting it right to the top but maybe play it safe and go for the minimum which gives you a decent charge.

I've got the ac charge on max without any problems. Try sticking the usb to 600 and see if it still discharges while using hdmi.

I've never bothered to look at the battery temp of my s3 as it's never felt hot enough to get me curious.

My old overclocked blade used to hit 60c lol, hottest this has got is about 50

I got my S3 from 3UK, branded, but the strange thing is, the phone was carrier unlocked, i.e. I could use a network SIM other than 3UK

As you say, strange that I got the charger with the detachable USB cable.

Actualy think its stranger i got mine with the 1-piece.
I bought mine as an orange prepay s3 but it came unbranded with an orange sim that was one of the old big ones that didnt fit gladly coz it saved me payin to get it unlocked

The only bloat i got was the samsung crap.
So do u get ur updates from 3 or samsung?
Im usin a 3 p+g sim, the 15qid deal with unlimited data but my updates came from samsung before i modded.
Was gutted when 3 got JB before unlocked s3s lol
