Help Music player lock screen

Well you are wrongly assuming my phone is working identically to yours - I've done what you say and guess what!? Widget stays
Well your phone sucks.

Been using music alot today and decided to test what made it go away, have a list.

-Pausing music from the lockscreen and then relocking the phone.
-Pausing the music from the music widget on the Home Screen.
-Pausing music from within the music app.

All works.

He wants it to go away, not stay.
What I was trying to say, is that this problem will show up if you listen to music and then kill the music task while listening. So my suggestion was to put the music task in the ignore list. If the music task doesn't get killed, there will most likely not be any problems like the one he describes. Hope this was an understandable way to say it...

I see.
The music widget will be put in place, but if the app is killed then it cannot be removed so it stays there?

I think I understand.

Very happy for you that your phone doesn't suck like mine - now if anyone is able to offer some polite civil help in the manner I've been accustomed to in these forums it would be much appreciated. There is something fundamentally wrong with the way my music player is closing as the lockscreen widget remains displaying the same track and wont respond if I try to resume play - in fact if I re-launch the player and put a new track on, the lockscreen widget remains "stuck" showing the previous track. Only a reboot will clear this so I will obviously have to delve deeper.

Had the same problem, but found out that it was caused by the task killer that was installed. So I went into the task killer app and put the music process in the ignore list, so it won't die when I click "kill all tasks". Hope this works for you too :)

I see what you're getting at - I'll experiment tomorrow - cheers

Yeah, real helpful. Thanks for that.

Phil, can you detail the sequence of events exactly? Was it a one-off or is it repeatable even after restarting the handset? I've tried replicating your problem here with no luck. Whatever I do the widget always disappears from the lockscreen if the player isn't active.

Can I ask: is your lockscreen music widget WAY out of proportion with the rest of the lockscreen?

Think its solved - my auto task killer was terminating the music app every 30 minutes ( I wondered why tracks sometimes stopped randomly!) and this left the widget in a state of limbo on the lockscreen. I've now put the music player on the ignore list so hopefully put an end to it - thanks HTCHero you were spot on it seems!

Mine is doing this and I don't know how to get rid of the music player from the Lock Screen. I kill the music player with "Advanced Task Killer Free" and I always pause the music before doing this... and now the music player is just stuck on the lock screen, but it won't do anything. If I play music on my phone, it does play music but the player wont work from the lock screen and the image of the last song player before using the task killer is stuck on the lock screen. I already follow the steps above :( btw I have a Sprint Hero...

If you are using advanced task killer(ATK), by default, you can long tap the task you want to ignore, and it will give you a pop up menu with ignore being one of the 5 options. Also I suggest tweaking your ATK, so that your kill level is set to crazy, and kill frequency is also set to when screen off, you will need to reset ATK by killing it, and re-opening, this will significantly increase your battery life.
