Help Random texts from my phone that I didn't send?

Okay, so I have a blackberry (ducks head and hides), and my friend has an Evo. We text back and forth all day during work, and randomly thrown into our chats are texts from my friend's phone to mine that show up in the middle of a chat message that I receive as a text from him, that he isn't sending to me. I've so far gotten texts trying to set up drug deals, offering prostitution services, random "where are you" texts, some seriously racist stuff, and yesterday, a four hour long session of "I'm going to end it all now" suicidal text messages. I know that my friend isn't sending me these messages, and I was with my friend one time when a message came through, so obviously, said friend didn't send it. But it comes up on my screen as from him. ?????

Has anyone else experienced this? I freaked out yesterday with the suicidal stuff, thinking it was my friend at first, but once I finally got through to my friend, there was mass confusion, since he obviously didn't send the texts. Ugh. I am so pissed off by this, and getting seriously annoyed and offended by the content of these texts. Is there a virus that sends texts like this? Or could someone else be sending texts using his number but without his phone? And if someone else has his phone cloned, why would they send the texts to me? Anybody have any insight???

did you ever get this figured out? My sister in law is in a similar boat now... some weird messages are getting inserted into her messages so the destination is receiving a combination of messages, part hers and part from an unknown source.

I haven't been able to find any resolution so far.
Welcome to AF!
Now that is bizzare! Just for testing, try a different sms app to see if it still happens.
Is she using the stock messaging app? She can try to clear cache and data from the app. Menu/settings/manage applications and go to the messaging app.
