I bought a 4000mah battery and want to know what you guys think of the results.

First of all the battery. It cost $15.80 + free shipping on Amazon. Vendor 'ecell' advertised the following:

  • Features: Made in Japan 2 year warranty Utra-high capacity battery Maximises time between charges Delivers superior performance Robust and durable battery Direct battery replacement Stable and safe to use No memory effect Capacity: 4000 mAh
  • Supplied: 1 xEB595675LU Gold Battery

And my results:
(Settings: From what I recall, brightness was at 100% and NFC, Wifi, GPS and Bluetooth were all enabled.)

Let me know what you think.

Battery life has not been an issue on this phone for me....run that one for awhile and let is know what you get lifewise.

Yeah. You can do a blind test. Put the phone and batteries under the blanket and randomly choose 1 battery to put in. Now hide the other one inside a bag. Use the phone for a week, switch out the battery under the blanket again. Use it for another week and see if you correctly guessed which one is which!

That's exactly what I'm currently doing. I will post my results with the standard battery. I too am skeptical about a 29% improvement over the standard without any change to the size. Honestly though, the 4k battery did seem to last considerably longer but it could just be in my head...

Anyway my comparison method is pretty non scientific but it'll have to do. I just wanted to see if the numbers I presented was surprising to anyone or not over the standard battery. But it's apparent that's not the case from the responses thus far.

I don't recall ever getting this performance out of the standard battery but like I said it may just be in my head.

Any way I'll see truth over the next 24 hours as I run down the standard battery. Hopefully I will be able to give it as close to the same use as the first test with the 4k battery.

I'll post the follow up results tomorrow.

Oh and one other thing--4k battery felt definitely heavier that the standard one. I don't know by how much as my hands aren't highly calibrated measuring tools ;) I'll measure them on my kitchen scale and post those results also.

@ iP0wN "(Settings: From what I recall, brightness was at 100% and NFC, Wifi, GPS and Bluetooth were all enabled.)"

Based on your above pic, none of these things were on for very long.
I've got a pic around here somewhere using stock battery-
usage was around 32 hrs with wifi, and BT on the entire time.
On screen time was 8 hrs.

If your pics are based on the 4000 mAh battery, I don't see it being any better than stock.

That's not necessarily true though. The comparison has to be done with iP0wN's typical use, not anyone elses.

I haven't been able to get passed 24 hours, after I added my corporate email account to my Note 2. I'm still averaging around 22 hours (which is more than good enough for me).

Thing is, I just discovered that my Calendar has been having sync errors since mid-December, so I'm thinking that was partially a cause of my not being able to get passed the 24 hour mark. We'll see how my battery life is tomorrow morning.

Wow that it's insane. Was your screen set to lowest brightness or something? There's no way imaginable that the two stock batteries I have would last even half that long. So forgive me for being skeptical but since you have the pic why not just post it?

Btw guys I have not been able to replicate similar use with the stock battery to make the comparison meaningful so I'm going to have to restart the test...

Try carefully pulling the wrapper off down to the metal of the battery and read the printing on it. I did " 3100mah " Among other things. I bought one , and its a chinese batt with a custom wrapper on it. No better than stock. I tested it aganist the stock batt on a 15 ohm load and monitored with a volt meter till the voltage dropped to 3.5 volts. Got a total of 13hrs 20 min out of the stock and 13 hrs 03 min life out of the so-called 4000mah one.
