Anyone know of a program to open the S-Note files (.snb) on a desktop computer? Google Drive syncs the files to my desktop machine, but I don't know what programs are available to open them on my desktop machine.

Solution from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1907192

On the PC, change the .snb extension to .zip. Windows Explorer can then open the resulting folder.

More times than not, providing a link to what you know what you're talking about is more helpful than just throwing it out there; esp when sending someone over to XDA.
I've often Googled and couldn't find what was on someone else's mind and I consider myself to be extremely resourceful.
I agree but sometimes it is not convenient to find the link and knowledge that there help out there with notification in the direction of that help is better than nothing.

Let's all take a little pause here and remember why we're all here: to politely and respectfully share with each other, right?

Thanks!

I'm not familiar with the app in question (S-Note), but while there are quite a few links and references to XDA from a Google search of "site:xda-developers.com view s-note snb on a pc", it might take a bit of wading through those links to find a specific thread that might address the OP's question.

Take a peek at one of these and see if they fit the bill:

Hope that's helpful :).

Cheers!

video explaining how to open up the archive and find the .jpgs

google search: "Galaxy Note 2 Tips & Tricks Episode 80: View S Note (snb) Files On Your Computer"

it's either of the top two videos. All you get are the images that you can then print off or convert to pdf yourself.

i'd have posted the links, however i'm a forum nub.
Hope it helps, cheers! :)

I have a Samsung Note 4 that has a bad USB port. I used MOBILedit on phone and PC to get the SNote files on my Win10 PC in SPD format. I extracted them using 7-Zip, then I opened the .PAGE file in Notepad. Among the jumble is the text of the SNote. I copied and pasted to a note in Evernote for PC that was linked to my new phone.

check this project:
https://github.com/ohadcn/snbopen
it can create pdf's out of snb files

Thank you so much for this. I'm using a more recent fork of your project, https://github.com/DaGrisa/snbopen , and I've been able to perfectly convert (with 100% accuracy, background included) .snb files from a backup of an old Samsung Galaxy Note on my computer (running linux, but since it's python it should work everywhere).
The output defaults to .pdf, but it's really simple to extract .png and the like.
Online conversions always missed something and the thumbnail in the .snb... well, was a thumbnail.

Hi there, uptake, I was wondering if you could help me use this snbopen program, because I've tried a few things like installing Python 3.6.5 and running the snbopen.py file using it and it doesn't work.

I admit I'm a real newbie at this stuff, and I'm only looking it up because my galaxy ace 3 suddenly gave up on me while I had some important info on it in my memos. I've tried online converters, file viewers, and the S-Note for windows. While the last does enable me to view the memos, for some reason it isn't the complete memo. You did mention that this snbopen program did it with full accuracy, so I was wondering if you could give me a step by step on how to work it?

Your help would be very much appreciated. Thanks. :)

I found this discussion today, and tried to export an S note as a text file. I succeeded when I used the share function in the app and shared as a text file, which is one of the share options. I put it into my dropbox account and then copied it to my documents on my pc. It opened just like any other text file and the contents looked just like on my phone. Mission accomplished, at least to export the contents as a text file. Thanks.
