Samsung vs iPhone - Oh, you'll love this...

Moto, until the arrogance demonstrated by Apple and their fan base goes away, unfortunately the war will wage on. If you want to know just how arrogant the fan base can get, go read Apple Insider comments to stories about Android. You'd be surprised at how "civilized" Sparrow's comment is in comparison to those.

OK, hands up! Clearly my post hasn't been taken in the spirit it was written.

Personally, I just thought it was further evidence as to what a brilliant phone Galaxy is, even when compared to a phone rated as highly as the iPhone. I, for one, am very pleased to see that Samsung have achieved so much.

Of course there is always going to be competition between any item, whether it be phones or washing up liquid. The benefits/features of one type of item won't suit everyone's needs so, yes, we have a choice as to what make/model we buy of anything, including our phones.

So, no, this was not meant to be an attack on Apple but a boost for Samsung and seeing as this is a Galaxy S3 forum, I had assumed others would like to be aware of this.

Cheers

I think the OP is right about the article showing how great a phone the Samsung is... Unfortunately this gets lost in a thread that shows how insecure Android users are in that they still feel the need to bash Apple products, even when Android based devices are crushing Apple. My galaxy phone is so far ahead of my friends iPhone 5, that he is insanely jealous. Lets stick to touting the truly innovative Android products that we use and ignore the fanboys and Apple bashers.

Who's "insecure" and "bashing"?

I own a Mac... Apple makes a great product - but the truth, plain and simple, is that Samsung beats them in the cell phone market, hands down. Period - no "bashing" intended or implied.

It's facts... not opinion

I actually love Apple products in general: I own a Mac and a mini Ipad and really like them both for my purposes. I personally believe the GS3 is a better phone for my needs; I prefer the ability to customize something that does so much as a cell phone does: phone, video, music, calculator, navigator, and on and on.

That said, I must admit the fact the GS3 is outselling the iphone did bring a smile to my face, and I couldn't care less which phones outsells the other. The reason is that is is just a little nail in the coffin of arrogance; Iphone marketing hype and the blind acceptance of it (and flaunting it) by so many for so many years has been a bit aggravating.

To be honest, I think the iphone era of blind allegiance is over; I also believe that the clever Samsung commercial poking fun at that fact is a huge reason. Many iphone addicts had to see themselves in that line. I think that ad was maybe as good in mind changing as the original 1984 commercial that introduced the Mac.

My two cents,
Mike

AppleInsider used to be a pretty good place to get info. In the last 18 months or so, it became nothing more than propagandizing and fictitious writing. (I really love when they proclaim how Apple has "won" a patent.") And people used to be able to post freely on that site, but now if you say anything negative towards Apple they will simply delete the post. I read that site now for my daily laugh. Nothing more.

Hi

Just seen this article, published 6pm this evening :)

Samsung crunches Apple in battle of the mobile phones as Galaxy outsells iPhone | Mail Online

That must wipe the smile of a few condescending iPhone owners, eh?

Ooh! Just love it ... :)

How illuminating. Your created a post to bash the few 'condensending iPhone owners' by sounding like a Samesong fan boy. Both devices get the job done and both are well made and both work well.

Perhaps it is time to slow the flow?

I find it more the other way round iphone users thinking there phones are the best untill shown other wise.

Most Apple (and Android) users do not frequent forums. They buy what they want and they are usually happy. We forum abusers populate the Android or Apple forums and some folks are hell bent on proving their device is better or the other device is worse.

Fanboys abound on either side.

So why are we comparing the galaxy phones to the iPhone? That like comparing a BMW to a VW... They both run, but one does it with much more style, and you get there faster.

I agree. But do not fret. Android will mature and eventually, they will run better and with all of the beta tests out there, sooner or later, Android will get it right and perhaps it will even develop its own style.

I am pulling for thost legions of Androiders. :D

i just never understood product x vs product y battles. be it iPhone vs. Android, or PS3 vs. Xbox. fanboys either side. it does not make either side any stronger, just weak. why care so much? it seems most here cry mommy when someone chooses Apple over Android, or prefers Apple. why care? isn't it the right of the consumer to buy what he or she likes? why do we feel the need to make Android the only phone out there? isn't that the same crime you accuse Apple of? or Microsoft? Sony? come on people! let it go. if someone likes Apple, let them do so. why is it so important that Android wins? all i see is yet another repeat of the Netscape Vs. IE wars. and despite how Netscape was in every way, shape, or form, superior, it lost!

in a nutshell: being an Android fanboy is no better than being an Apple fanboy. i am not married to one brand. brand loyalty in my mind became obsolete once products were made in the same overseas factory run by 12 year-old child labor. in the 1980s buying a Fisher VCR vs. a RCA meant something. today, it does not matter if it's Android, Apple. VW, or Bose. having one does not make you superior to anyone using another. i own Apple, Microsoft, Android products. use all of them. either one is a backup to another if it dies or crashes or it has a purpose that the others cannot satisfy (my PS3 is a backup for Netflix when my Xbox doesn't work). heck i drive a Pontiac. i have owned cars from all the big 3 and some imports. none are inherently better or worse than another, despite all the Ford vs. Chevy wars still going on to this day!
