i installed a root cleaner i cant remember exactly what one , but anyhow when i bought the Kyocera Rise i also purchased the geeksquad protection plan at the time it was 14.99 for 2 years protection, this was back in July & had them email me the recipte cause best buy has that option , anyways the root cleaner i installed messed something up in the phone who knows what but it required a restart after cleaning , then boot loop of death , first time i called up virgin mobile they had no problem sending me a replacement phone because of the fact that it was less then a year that i had bought it , but they sent me some refurbished rise and it had problems from the get go & when the update automatically was pushed on it , it wouldnt even start up so who knows what the original issue of the phone was i didnt even get a chance too root it, got phone activate it, it downloaded ova firmware then bootlooped, so instead of waiting 3 days for them to send me another one i went too geeksquad at bestbuy printed out my recipte i had bought the protection plan since the printed reciptes most stores offer you fade over time and then ur screwed i had them email it too me , long story short i was completly hounest with geeksquad said i rooted my phone and wanted too uninstall bloatware VM installs on there used a root cleaner then it bootlooped and he said no problem no fuss went grabbed a new one off the shelf & handed me the new phone like that simple, Only thing is that i didnt tell him that First time i contacted virgin mobile and they replaced the phone with a refurb one , Now i share this info cause i wanted too show that rooted phones is legal and cant effect warrenty anymore but we shouldnt abuse this or warrentys Virgin mobile will replace any phone u mess up for up to 1 year they told me, this is before u have too have insurance of another means either them at 5.00 exta a month or whoever, Geeksquad will extend that warrenty for whatever many years ya wanna buy extra protection for it,but if we abuse this the cost of the extra insurance from them might go up now like i said back in july when i first got my Rise it was 14.99 for 2 years protection so thats 1 year more then Virgin has so i had 2 options that worked Virgin mobile for 1 year & geeksquad to go through but Virgin mobile will send you a refurb not new,

This is USA only sorry Canada
With geeksquad it was no fuss no argueing or anything or explainging that rooting is legal & that it cant effect warrenty or services , dunno about other places now

Actually, you're only half-right. It can affect a warranty if they include that in the warranty contract. Geek Squad's warranty does include rooted devices, and more and more are including it, but that's outside the scope of 'rooting is legal'.

actually congress passed it cant effect any warrenty even if its in the warrenty contract they cant hold it against you ,effect rooting cant effect the warrenty check 2013 congress & rooting on google ,

iam mainly posting this info for the bootloader unlock team hopeing it will allow more chances of succuess without fear, otherwise sorry guys i wouldve kept this info too myself i know selfish but , kinda have too be ,

this doesnt apply to tablets though

Told Virgin mobile when i ran the root cleaner & it bootlooped that it was rooted too remove apps i did not use that was bloatware they put on there takeing up system memory & they still hounered the 1 year warrenty when it says on the box rooting voids warrenty & they offer 1 year also , so if ya wanna do more research go ahead n post here i dont wanna confuse people but , they should know the whole truth iam just saying my esperiances over the last week with virgin mobile & geeksquad today

Youd think that it would actually be in the best intrest that one of the places give access to the bootloader this way we can make our very own Recoverys & backups
