How did u download it, i didnt see a a link thank u in advance!!!

Im currently running fl16 for sprint epic 4g touch is the update worth it, if not how can i get cwm recovery for this version, one again thanks you guys are awesome!!!

I wish there were awards u could recieve

FL24 is ICS you are on a Jellybean ROM right now. you can't get CWM for these (the kernel has to be packaged with it on this phone). You can get AGAT recovery, but there are some issues (there is a thread on this stuff here and on xda too).

Okay this is a kernel with recovery (AGAT) you flashed If you are wanting the FL24 Base band (modem) then you would have to flash that separately, or flash the entire ROM
[ROM][ODIN][TAR][ICS] SPH-D710 FL24 (FL24 Modem/Kernel/ROM - Root/Stock)

I posted the recovery kernel because several user want to have a recovery so they can have a nandroid backup. Having the ability to restore from a nandroid backup is pretty handy and convenient if you are tinkering and mess something up.

You can nandroid backup w/o a repack, I don't use repack cause of to many issues that I think won't be fixed till we get source for JB. But my preferred recovery is EL26.

FL24 is ICS and not JB. Using the EL kernel with recovery is an over complicated way for a lot of people, having to flash kernels every time one does a backup. The one for FL24 is ICS based so would not have all the issues that the JB version is having.

Was running fl16 for epic 4g touch great rom, excellent battery life but data speeds tanked, went back to stock fi22 and boost upgraded me to fl24, now i got great data speeds but sucky battery life!!! What gives is there a median??

If you are running totally stock then you have bloatware running which eats battery. Also, some of the default settings tend to lead to poorer battery life. I get good battery life and good data speed on GA10

All the roms that I have seen always refer to EL26 kernel.... That what many consider to be the safest recovery to use on the S2. It's not complicated at all to use *cough * mobile odin *cough*.

Fl16 minus the data issues has great advantages to be specific you can limit the background processes which is hott i wish it were a way to make data speeds blaze like fl24 anyone know, post it up!!!

There should be that same option under developer options to limit background processes. Now as far as speed it's all on what works best for your area. You can change prl and get rid of the *middle man * by changing your proxy.

The reason they recommend that is for the emmc issue of changing to a different ROM, not a back up issue. Also Mobile Odin has an issue with Boost ROMS due to it not recognizing the phone because of the model number. For some users most anything Odin makes them nervous too. Also, you have to realize that even the EL kernel is a repack in itself.

Why didn't my build change though? I did the one click to change it. and everything is working fine so far.

Post me the link to it. You can manually flash the FI22 modem if you want. I have read that the OTA update is fairly small so the changes were probably the modem and a kernel that was patched to cover the exploit.
If it is working good for you, I say leave it the way it is.

I have interchanged base bands many times with the same kernel looking for performance, and it wasn't until I got to the FK23 ROM that I couldn't use the older modems.
