Help Struggling to take decent pictures on Note 2

I've come from a GS2 that eventually was rooted and running Jelly bean Cyanagen and the photos I took were always good, often stunning but rarely bad unless I did something daft.
I could just point and click and the camera pretty much always hit the spot, I could play around with the settings if I wanted to do some macro stuff or do something clever.

Fast forward to the Note 2 and I'm having less success.
The pictures I take with the Note are either excellent or dreadful and I don't know which until I look at them on a PC.
I've had photos that are tinted pink (sunlight problems I think) and I've had plenty of blurry photos (auto focus fail I guess.)
The SG2 very rarely blurred focus, it always seemed to get the focus just right.

I don't mind setting scene modes and stuff like that if I want to do some "arty" shots but when I want to point and click I expect pin sharp, focused well balanced photos with plenty of detail, every time not just occasionally.

That's not too much to ask with the same camera as the SG2 used is it?

Could you post some examples? My Note 2 takes about the same quality pictures as my 4s(Great BTW)

Thanks for all your answers.
I don't think it's a hardware problem because it has taken some exceptional photos but the success rate seems pretty hit or miss.

I just seems to not be very forgiving at times where as the S2 software seemed to sort it al out for you on auto point and shoot mode.
Even when I focus the Note 2 myself there's a chance that it doesn't focus properly.

I do admit it focuses much faster than the S2, so maybe that's it.
The S2 was slower but focused better.
Also another possibility because I knew the S2 was slow I compensated for it and allowed it plenty of time to focus and take the photo.

That explains the blurring possibly, maybe I need to be a little more gentle with the Note 2 even with the fast shutter speed, especially at the time of year with lack of outdoor lighting ;)

Any idea what happened to the photo below?
Was shocked when i got home to find alot of my photos from a day out where... pink.

This looks nothing like how it actually looked, I suspect it had something to do with the direction of the sun that day.
