they are working on it. they just tried something new a day ago, didnt work but they arent giving up. not really anything we can do but give them support.

I've learned to be content with 2.1 and if the phone gets rooted, great. If not, maybe on my next phone. It makes life much easier when you look at it like this.

agreed. ive been working on ways to do the things i want regardless of root. ive found a way to get free tethering, found a way to edit apks for total customization, using helix now for a new UI.

yes of course i want root and watch the thread religiously, but i am done being disappointed because of my lack of root

it seems that way, i'm sure i'll have my nexus before the eris gets a 2.1 ota update and we all now the nexus isn't coming out any time soon

Ok , but the poblem is I have a 2 year contract with verizon so I have to have this phone for the next year and a half.
(This is probably a stupid question) but how Do you find a root for an android phone?

Is your phone rooted? If not you can't use LWP.

No. Nothing yet exists to make this happen.
