Help Micro SD card - cannot use this on Galaxy Note 10.1

I bought a Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet and a 32GB Micro SD card. I have mounted and formatted the card but I assumed this would extend the tablet storage like it does on my Galaxy tab 2. Instead, although the Micro SD card is recognised in settings, I cannot save apps, etc to it. My daughter wants to use S Draw but it just says there is insufficient memory now but I thought the card would cure this problem.. I'm guessing that I need to get more technical to use this!!

An insufficient memory message probably refers to RAM, not to storage (internal or external). Maybe she needs to shut down some other running applications in order to use the app.

Just reread this....in the Note, you cannot save apps to an external SD card (unless, from what I understand, the tablet is rooted). You can only save data (such as pictures, music, videos, etc.).

So....if the app is installed on the Note, she can probably save her drawings to the SD card, but if it is not already installed and you are looking for space to install the program, the SD card won't solve the problem.

Perhaps the OP will clarify?

Not a matter of saving to the card, rather installing to the card requires rooting.

I've been using a 64gb for a couple months now with no issues. I got mine off Amazon for $55

Would not EVER buy one for that price. A brand that sells them for that price cannot be reliable.

The price has to drop sometime look at the price of a ssd now as to what is was a year ago.

They have to drop in price. Neither Sandisk, nor any other reliable manufacturer have dropped their prices that low yet.

If your thinking of buying one hold fire for a few day as I have a problem with mine the tab sees it at 64gb and formates at62gb and the same with windows and loaded it with 40gb of photos, movies and music which all works fine untill I shutdown the note the restart and I am left with 4gb only. I have contacted the uk seller and he seems to think it faulty so he is sending a replacement he did offer a full refund so hopefully it wont be a problem.

You could be right just recieved the replacement would not work in the note and windows sees it as 8mb yes mega bites will keep you imformed.

Update.. it seems the seller has been sold a faulty batch so he has stopped selling them for now but still maintains they are not fake. However I have recieved a full refund and purchased a new 64gb SanDisk from Amazon for

You didnt need to format the card. If you did that may be your issue.

Reformat it back to exFat

You didn't need to format the card.

Reformat it back to ExFat, and then put it in and it should recognize the sd card.

Just let the tablet go through its process of recognizing it.
