Is there a way to find out how many texts you sent and received in a billing period with Virgin Mobile? Or do you have to get an application for that?

Log in to Virgin's website maybe? I know you can track your used minutes there.

I tried that but it only gives you minutes used. Text section only gives you history of texts sent received to whom. Doesn't give you a total number

Easy solution is to copy/paste that list into an Excel spreadsheet and run the COUNTA function on the column(s).

Good idea, but it only lists 30 events at a time. Is there a way to have all the data show up on 1 webpage, so I don't have to copy and paste 300 times?

9000 texts is quite a few indeed. Maybe call Virgin Mobile and ask them to email you the raw text data?

It doesn't make sense for them not to allow all of them at once... that's peculiar.

I tried an app on the play store called SMS Counter. Seems to work pretty well as you can setup your billing period. Only minor thing is the "period" tab only gives you total of received and total number of sent, so you have to do the math to get your grand total. Also, it appears to save the total number correctly even if you have a habit of deleting text messages, which is good. I deleted a few texts and refreshed the app and still got the same number as a test.

When I was with Sprint all you had to do was send a text with "usage" and it would give you your total number of texts sent in a billing period. Or you could go to their website and get a total number. I can't find a total number of texts with Virgin?

If your only issue with that app is that it doesn't add for you, maybe drop a suggestion to the developer. Building in simple arithmetic is very easy to do.
