Root [T-Mobile] T-Mobile GSIII on AT&T?

Upvote 0
How does it work? Can I root it and flash an AT&T ROM and radio and be in business? Will I get 3G and/or LTE?

No, you can not get it to work flashing an ATT rom. It could brick the phone. You will need a Sim Unlock code from T-Mobile to use it on ATT. You will not get LTE as the T-Mobile phone does not have LTE capable on the phone.

Figured it was something like that...now I just wish I'd waited to get an LTE-capable S3! I wonder how much of a premium they'll be charging...

I would not worry about it. It is going to be some time till T-Mobile's LTE is going to be available to all, and the speeds may not be any different. Also LTE will suck the life out of the battery.

Been thinking about switching to att myself... Anyone know what kind of data speeds the tmo model is capable of on att network?

How to SIM Unlock.
Note: This is legal if you bought your phone before January 25.

All you have to do is go to Wal-Mart, buy a Straight Talk SIM card, and pop it in. It WILL work on AT&T 3G bands. You won't get the HSPA42 speeds you may be used to seeing, but I get a respectable 6MBPS.

Thanks man... Yeah, I'm currently rocking edge on America's largest 4g network! For years they have ben slanging this BS that we couldn't get 3g in our area because of a nearby naval base... Though tmo in the actual town of the naval base has had 3g for years &now 4g... 2012 was supposed to bring change.... It did not.... Can't justify paying for 4g & never hitting 1mb... Is a joke... Straight talk here I come !
