Need Advice for China HTC G21 (duplicate)

Dear Android Masters ,

I have China smart phone with the specification as below:

Model : HTC G21
Android Version: 4.0.6
Baseband version: MAUI.11AMD.W11.37.SP.V8,2011/11/03
Kernel Version: 2.6.35.7 wuzhenyuan@baima-sw-server #1 Sun May 6 12:45:44 CST 2012
Custom Build Version: 1336279556

Which I want to asking that I cannot download application using google play store event I download android application from another web for some application cannot installed to my smart phone. Also I cannot add my google account using directly menu at phone setting.

The question is?
* What's wrong with the phone series?
* Any relation with google license which build in the phone?
* Is it possible to reset the OS phone to get normally phone so I can download application from google store, using the google application and add the google account as the phone account.

I am very appreciate if you can give me some advice.

Hi Bagus, and welcome to AF

I'm pretty sure this phone isn't really an HTC, which is why it doesn't have any of the google applications - at least I assume from your description that you don't have the play store app. This is typical of these "copy" phones (see here for a quick comment on these). You might be able to load the google apps after rooting the phone, but I don't know whether anyone will know how to root it.

I'll move this thread to the Android Lounge, as there might be some more suggestions there. You might also find some information in the Other Phones forum. But usually there is no software support for these phones, either from the manufacturer or the community.

Sorry not to be more help. Hopefully someone will have some suggestion.

That's interesting, apparently it's ICS 4.0.6, yet it's the older 2.6 Linux kernel. Normally it's a 3.0 something kernel version for ICS. I've never seen that before, even on Chinese knock-offs.

Dear All,

Good day to you all.
My problem with this phone was solved.
My friend just finished to root my clone phone.
I don't know how? but currently my phone can open the google play store, and download the application from google play store, also I can make the google account as my personal phone email.
Thank you very much to this forum which already help to give an advice to me.

If some of you have same problem with me, please share to me maybe I can asking to my friend to find the problem solving.
