Help Keyboard options gone

All,

I've got a problem with my keyboard function that I hope someone can help with.

Until yesterday evening my standard keyboard had predictive text and punctuation options on a single line above the keyboard.

From yesterday, when I go to use the keyboard the punctuation option has gone and the predictive text line been elongated. I've no idea how I lost, or can recover, the punctuation option as it doesn't seem to be in the settings options.

Can anyone shed any light on this?

When in the keyboard, try to hit the menu button. That will toggle the punctuation/predictive text line for me.
Do I understand your question correctly?

Thanks but that doesn't address the problem.

From the Forums I've read it seems that my SG3 keypad was unique!

My stock keyboard had a narrower predictive text line with punctuation options to the left of the suggested word list, I could add a '!.?, without having to hold the SYM or . key. That function has now disappeared and I don't know how to retrieve it.

Same problem, wish I hadn't updated now.

To try and offer my wording and see if that helps any potential crisis solvers;

When typing (text, e-mail, whatever) The keypad was the default Samsung QWERTY keyboard and had predictive text. When auto-filling a word (e.g. typing 'wo' and it offering to extend it to 'word'), choosing that word resulted in the prediction bar offering you various punctuation choices for the end of the word should you so wish to use them. It also auto-corrected words such as couldn't, won't, can't etc. with the apostrophes without having to go to the symbols page and manually input. Previously very time-efficient because of this.

However, now this bar merely contains words, doesn't auto-correct and offers no punctuation options for the end of words!

HELP?!

Thank Apple for some of this. The Auto correct had to be removed because Apple had the patent. You can get it back by using a different keyboard from the market.

Any advice on which are good keyboard apps to download and if it's worth paying for any? There's a whole host on there and deciding between them, or trial and error, seems tedious and time-consuming!

PS. Damn you Jobs, damn you!

Go to settings>application manager>All
Select Samsung Keyboard, clear cache and settings.
I'll bet you it works.... lemme know if it does!
Good Luck,
Aloha!
