Has anyone managed to tether their Desire to a Mac without third-party software or rooting?
As the HTC Sync software controls the PC end of the tether connection, and it's not available on the Mac, this is annoying.
HTC support was f-all help:
My support request:
Any ideas? Or will I have to stump up for pdanet? And is that any good?
Thanks.

HTC's totally moronic reply:I am looking for instructions to tether my Desire for internet access with my Mac (OSX Snow Leopard) There are only details for using HTC Sync, which is only available for Windows.
So, when I connect the Desire via USB and choose Internet Sharing from the connection menu, I get a new android network adapter appear, but I can't seem to get it to connect. To be able to sync your htc desire you would need to use the software htc sync, unfortunately htc syn is not compatible with MAC it works only with WM PC. HTC doesn't support MAC and we do not have any application. We heard that MAC has created the missing sync for HTC users, but we cannot help regarding this application, as we haven't made this. Please contact MAC support for more details
