:(I updated my phone to "Jellybean" yesterday. I think that that's the reason why I can't connect it to the computer to view my pictures, music, and all those other good things(but I'm not 100% sure if it's because of the update). When I click on the USB option in the Go Notification Bar (in the taskbar, it's one of the Go accessories) I receive this pop up saying "usb is not connected or mass storage function is not supported". Somebody help me, please? And don't tell me to root, because

1) I don't want to void my warranty
2) I don't understand nor want to understand that stuff. It seems too complicated for an average smartphone user, like myself.

Thanks:eek:

Welcome to the forums Robbertt :ciao:

Which phone do you have? Jellybean isn't out yet for the sgh-T989.

Usually after an update its a good idea to do a factory reset to clear up little problems.

Thanks for the welcome!

Well, yeah I have the sgh-T989, but if it's not the Jellybean update, than what could it be? I recieved a notification about a software update to my phone a few days ago but I'm not sure what was the update for so I just updated it and I guess it's because of that weird update I can't connect connect my phone to cpu via usb. Kies air is really cool, quick, and easy to use but I prefer usb method because it's still the quickest and easiest way to explore my system files.

There was a maintenance update for ICS recently so that's probably what you got. When you say the Go Notification Bar, are you using Go Launcher?

Try going to settings, under 'Wireless and networks' tap more, then USB Utilities, then tap 'connect storage to pc'. Does that work? If not you might try reinstalling drivers on your pc. If you don't have Kies on your computer, download and install it. It will install the drivers.

I've only used official t-mobile OTA updates after they are released. One time I did have a problem when the Kies update and the Gingerbread maintenance update came over the air on the same day but Atmazzz walked me through fixing the problem it created. From that experience I've learned not to mix software and OS updates on the same day.

I just realized you probably meant the Ice Cream Sandwich OTA maintenance update. That was an official t-mobile OTA update too. Did you update anything else on the same day?

Sorry, I haven't been on!

Anyways, no I didn't update anything else. So I guess it is because of that update that I can't connect it to my pc.

Robbertt try going here

SEARCH SAMSUNG

Put in the info for your phone. Download and install the drivers. See if that helps.

I did EXACTLY what you told me(and I installed Kies on my pc like you told me to) but nothing happened. Oh, and the update I got was the JB update, the JB update didn't come out in the U.S. yet, but it came out in Spain, where I'm currently living.

I'm just curious, could it be the Go Launcher, its accessories, other Go-related apps, or the setting and preferences of the Go apps?

Is the model # for your phone i9100?

I was curious about the Go Launcher too. Have you tried it with the stock launcher?

No, never mind.

Well I FINALLY found out why my SGS2 doesn't connect to my pc.

It's because of the USB cable!

I looked at the inside of the USB plug and I saw that it was deformed!

So then I used my mum's HTC cable and I finally connected it to the pc!

I guess I might have accidentally swaped USB cables with someone who was also charging his phone via pc in school because I just bought this phone in December.

Don't forget to return "mums" cable.
