Does anyone else having an issue connecting to 4G? I could not connect to 4G since around 1/27/13. I have an open ticket with Boost tech support. After few days and multiple calls, one of the tech finally tells me that they are having issues with the iDEN and WiMax interference and the engineers are working on it. I'm in Portland Oregon area. The tech also mentioned that I'm not the only one having this issue in my area.

I need some input from the forum if you think this is a software/tower interference issue as the Boost tech mentioned or a hardware issue.

My main concerned is if this is a hardware issue, I want send it back before my 30 days are up. I didn't spend my good money on this device only to fail within 30 days. :D

I'm beginning to think the same, since the FL24 update. You mentioned you have rooted your S2, do you have a custom ROM on it? If you do which one did you installed? Also, did you have the 128 error before the root? I've never had that error or any other errors...4G just don't connect for me.

Yes I did have the error 128 before root, my phone is like 3 weeks old, and it was working fine, didn't want to root because I had an lg marquee and almost all roms drain my battery, so I decided to stay stock on my G2, but after I updated to the fl24 on the morning going to work, at night I start to get this message and realize that I didn't have 4g, instead I had 4x,meaning no data connection, I followed the instructions on this forum to root this phone and it was very easy, after root I think because you flash agat and a kernel on your phone fix my problem. No, I have no rom installed on my phone is all stock but rooted, hope this help for you:D

Absolutely helps! Now I know it's not a hardware issue. Only thing is I've never had the error 128. Funny thing is when I talked to Boost they keep mentioning that I have error 128, which I've never mentioned that to them but somehow it's on their record...haha. Besides the error 128, it seems you and I are having same exact problem. I definitely have to rethink about rooting my phone, especially when Codegerm keep bragging about it! :D:D:D

Freesunshine Just root your phone Man!!!and enjoy 4g, please let us know how it went

So, I gave in and rooted my phone...finally! As soon as I install AGAT kernal, I notice 4G is connected BUT no data. So continue with the rooting and completed the root. However, my 4G connected but not getting any data. I have no problem with 3G and WiFi. Any idea as to why no data on 4G?

No actual 4g service. The 4g on boost is a pretty limited service area. It's not like 3g

Actually, here in Portland we have a good 4G, WiMax, service. I had no problem until, I think, I updated to FL24 now my 4G doesn't even connect. However, after I rooted and installed JB (FK23), it say my 4G is connected but no data.:thinking::thinking:

Oh, I forgot to mention, I went into a Boost/Virgin store the other day to see if they heard or having any issues with the 4G service and the rep said no issues what so ever. Also, no other customers came in or called for 4G issues. The rep at the store was really cool and he called the Boost right at the store and did more troubleshooting (same resetting the phone and etc) but still no luck.

Anyway, after almost 3 weeks of troubleshooting and many resets with Boost they finally said it's gotta be a hardware issue and advised me to return the device. So, I'm in a process of returning and purchasing a new one.

My conclusion is that there was never an issue with 4G service and my brand new phone was just jacked up!

Thanks guys for your input! I was trying to see if I could get the 4G working since, I believe, you guys are a lot more experienced and experts in tweaking the phone! :D
