Help Need Help with the GPS

How do you turn the Nexus 4 GPS "on and off and on again" please?

Are you using an application like Google Maps navigation, Trimble Outdoors or some manual technique?

Well, what I mean is that I turn on the GPS... after a while that I see it's not working a turn it off and after a few seconds I turn it on again to see if that helps. You know, like a restart.. something like that.

I'm using Google Maps..

If you drop the Power Widget on a home screen, this includes a button for turning the GPS on and off.

Re the op's issue: that could potentially be an issue with the GPS chip on your phone.

Android also uses WiFi (Remember the fuss about Google grabbing passwords etc with the street view cars? Well, they were grabbing WiFi info for working out your location) and the phone network (AGPS) to get a rough location while waiting for the GPS to 'lock'. The fact you're getting a location then losing it could be the phone getting that initial WiFi/Network fix then realising the GPS isn't getting anything or is failing.

I'd suggest you get in touch with Google support - as other people have said, the GPS on the N4 is pretty good.

Have you tried GPS Status from the store? That usually kick starts it! GPS on my N4 is spot on, keen even get a really good signal/fix inside. Something my DHD never did.

I searched the store for 'gps status' & got multiple hits for that name. Can you clarify the full title of the one you are recommending or the name of the dev?

Thanks
