the anarkia and fugu mod kernels suck, btw. they cause feezing and reboots.

Just put anarkia on my phone today... Way better than franco. Seems better than lean. Tiny has been going downhill with all his new features. Only one I seem to like these days are ROM stock and now anarkia. But that's just my phone

Edit... Had a sleep on ak very soon after posting... Lol. On popcorn 12 now

lol told you that anarkia sucks the fugumod one caused a bootloop. i had to clean flash to fix it

Yes... Popcorn is great! I got almost 3 hrs screen yesterday. Granted some was data off using calculator

Currently trying popcorn and while i normally don't put much stock in "this kernel is better then this kernel" type discussions, I have to say that it does feel a bit snappier then the kernel that comes with the ROM. Can't vouch for battery life yet, but hey, even if its my brain making things up to make myself feel good, i'll take it!

I'll admit Popcorn v12 is nice and snappy... but anyone else here notice how it seems to wash out the screen? I don't know how to explain it, but the contrast is down on it and... well... it's different.

And Screen Adjuster doesn't do +contrast... I adjusted the contrast in Trickster Mod and it did very little to help. Oh well, it's a trade-off I spose

Back to JBSourcery for a minute.

I've noticed my default sounds seem to change unexpectedly. I had this problem in another thread (which I thought I solved) but just had a variation minutes ago. For my default ringtone and notification, I use mp3s which I created or downloaded and I absolutely KNOW I set these. Just now when I sent a page to my phone using Chrome2Phone, I got a strange sound instead of my installed "Nexus" notification. Looking at the settings my default notification as set to Helium and my default ringtone was "unknown". Something's a-miss here.

Also, does SMS work with this ROM? I can't seem to view a picture my sister sent last night and haven't been able to send her one this morning. No errors they just never seem to finish downloading or sending.

And yes, my SMS/MMS works. Are you sure she didn't try to send a pic that was too high-res and exceeds the data limit? Some programs are a little picky that way...

I don't think so. I'm using Handcent (and also tried ChompSMS for a goof) and the file my sister is sending says 30kb as it refuses to download it. The pic I sent her was just me mugging for the camera, shouldn't be different than pics I sent before.

BTW, I found that setting contrast to -10 in Trickster Mod seems to help the screen on Popcorn v12...

Okay all the talk about popcorn kernel so I am trying it too.

Some people may want to adjust gamma offsets as well. My normal setup is below and once the values were set...my screen looked much better.

But yes...default settings for this kernel tell me why they named it "popcorn"...very yellowish whites LOL!

Set your contrast to +3. Your screen will be much easier to see in direct sunlight.

uninstall handcent... reboot and try sending again. I think Handcent has been having issues on 4.2 roms and just having the app installed causing issue

His 4.1.2 kernel was my go to... always been solid for me. Thanks to sweaty for finding this! I have been trolling his threads for a while waiting for 4.2!!
