I'm not sure if anyone know this but there is an update for Jellybean 4.1.2. I purchased my Note 10.1 yesterday, set everything up, saw that it was running 4.0.4. Had a notification about an update, did the update and now it's running 4.1.2. I didn't have to use Kies at all. If you haven't received the update yet try restarting device or going to software updates in settings. Hope this helped.

Edit: I have the US Wifi version.

I'm in Michigan (US) and is running 4.1.2. There was a notification in the bar for an update after I got it set up. Try contacting samsung about it if you haven't received the update and in in the US.

I really can't say too much about WiFi before and after; I did the setup and then the update. Didn't get a chance to use wifi before then. But what I can say is that it seems pretty fast usinng chrome than the stocked internet.

Im in the uk running a GT-N8000 which is the wifi 3g model, begining of the week did a software update from the tablet but there was'nt one available. Last night I connected my note to my pc and fired up kries the first thing it did was download a new version of kries, after which it picked up there was a new firmware for the note which I let it do, after it had all finished, I then had to update the usb drivers. After rebooting the note I now have 4.1.2 jelly bean.

To be honest right now I cant see any difference, oh except every time I want to type it goes into a hand writing mode so I have to switch to the keyboard, anyone know hiw to defaukt it to keyboard.

Well the German ROM screwed my CSC, so I'll have to go ODIN all the way now. Which also means I no longer have warranty on it either as CSC is now mismatched. No more OTA updates and no warranty for me in my region. I don't know why there is no stock Canadian ROM to be found anywhere. Sammobile and xda-developers doesn't have it.

Thought all would be good when I originally upgraded to 4.1.1 with the thought of just eventually changing the CSC code to my region. Only to discover the Canadian CSC code cannot be found. I can change to DBT, XSA, KOR, etc, but not my own region (as it's not listed). :(

Oh well, nothing I can do about it now except hope someone puts it out there eventually.

You should not need to re-flash only to change CSC. There are apps that let you add CSCs and change to the newly added ones. It of course resets the device, but if you REALLY feel you need to do it...

I leve my CSC at whatever the ROM comes with as I am rooted and they will know I was tinkering with the device anyway.

It is your choice, but if I were you I would not bother iwth changing CSC. I just upgraded to the UK 4.1.2 today using ODIN and am not going to change CSC.

More importantly needed if anything goes wrong and I need to set my region's CSC for warranty purposes. Just needed stock as 'just in case' more than anything else.

If something goes wrong, then you can still reflash. If something goes really, reallly wrong, then yneither you nor the service centre will be able to determine the CSC ;)

Curious. I'm in the UK too and running 4.1.1 on the 8010. I just checked and it said that the latest updates have already been installed. Why didn't it allow me to download 4.1.2? Perhaps 4.1.2 is really only relevant to 3g versions?

I think you have to go into the Samsung keyboard settings. Settings> language and input> Keyboards and input methods...that should work.

Thanks I look there and in keyboard inputs it has google voice recognition and samsung keyboard but the samsung keyboard although it has green tick in the box it is greyed out,

However I did find a setting switch to hand writing recogition when pen removal is detected, so ive unchecked that and I think tgats sorted it.

No idea for the N8010, but im sure the wifi only notes were getting the update first, but that could the US version I can't remember. I do know that I went to put Kies on my parteners pc so I could get 4.1.2 on her 3g wifi note but as I was about to do that when I fired up her note it went into a software update over our wifi without me connecting it to the pc, and it did in half the time it did the update to mine.

The only thing I can suggest is if you havent already is install Kies on your pc and see if that updates your note for you.

Thanks but I have a real problem with kies. When I load it, it runs my cpu at 100% ( doing whatever) and doesn't have time to do what I want it to do - eg connect to the tab.

LOL. Thanks. Someone was kind enough to upload the Canadian 4.1.2 ROM. Apparently, the Canadian ROM kept the lock screen app shortcuts while the German one took it out. Otherwise, no real difference between the other ROMs that I can notice.

I just figured this one out: on the keyboard there should be a symbol of a Microphone with three dots above it ; just long press that button and there will be a popup for three options select the on you prefer to use. me personally peter to use handwriting to text. I like the flow of writing instead of typing the letters from the keyboard.

If for some reason the problem reoccurs just long press the microphone that is on the upper left of the notepad or bottom left of the floating keyboard. I hope we're talking about the same thing ... lol I enjoy handwriting to text better than typing out what need to be said ... especially if it's something extra long. I'd rather see my mistakes as I'm writing them. But that's just me....:)
