Is it worth full retail price?

So, I just got my tax refund and my original thought was buying an iphone 5 (i know, i know). But the more i've read about the note 2 the better it sounds. So, the question I ask to everyone is the note 2 worth paying full retail price for?

I have unlimited data so any phone I buy will be for full retail, I currently have the rezound which is a great phone. But it is getting old, and I like the split screen option the note 2 has. Plus I am a true multimedia/work phone user and I find myself having to get out the laptop or ipad to do certain tasks for work and the note 2 looks like it could very easily do what my rezound and laptop do.

Any opinions?

I bought mine at full retail cost when it was released and haven't regretted a minute of it. Best

The only thing I worry about is if Samsung will forget about the note 2 in a few months. That really irked me when I bought my rezound (about 2 months after it came out) HTC came out with 3 new phones and they basically dropped the rezound.

Does Samsung do good support for their phones?

Lets put it this way, the Galaxy S2 is receiving Android 4.1.2 right now in some areas which is the latest update, haven't even got that on my Note 2 yet lol.
I would say the Note 2 should be kept in updates for a while yet.

I was in the same boat as you (Unlimited data, having to pay full price for any phone to keep it). I just bought one this past Wednesday. Switched from the Galaxy Nexus, and let me tell you, the difference is "Night & Day". The screen is just amazing to watch (not just video, but the clarity of the text is great). There were a few "dead zones" on my daily bus rides to & from work where my Nexus would not be able to pick up a signal. With the Note 2, I had no problems streaming Netflix throughout the entire ride. But without question, the battery life is just amazing. After "conditioning" the battery (drained it down to around 5% then a full recharge 3 times), it takes me about 8 hours of "on & off" use (music playback, streaming music (with a pair of Bluetooth headphones [Plantronics BackBeat Go] or video, web surfing, etc...) just to end up losing only around 25% of the charge.

I use to tether my Nexus 7 to my phone (with FoxFI (paid... now PdaNet+), & it still works) & use that on the bus, but the screen size of the Note 2 is so very comfortable that I probably will not be doing that much anymore.

It's gonna be hard to switch to a phone with a smaller screen (whenever that time comes).

The funny thing is, I haven't even had a chance to play with the note 2 yet. I went into my local walmart today, but they had the dummy phone. So the only thing I was able to do was hold the shell of the phone. I will probably go into verizon sometime this week and use the real thing. I will just have to convince the salesman that me paying $30 for unlimited data makes more sense than paying $30 for 2gb. Which is why I have tried to avoid verizon, but it looks like I will have to check it out now.

I would tether my ipad through my rezound when I would travel, but that gets so tiring.

I really live my note 2 and I can say that the only way I get rid of it as of yet is if moto makes the next nexus phone this phone is fast clean smooth crisp everything you want in a phone is in the note im in sales so I do use the spen all the time with leads and clients....movies games and I can tell that I do hate the fact im on sprint with a note 2 but even the 3g with this phone is just as fast as my epic 4g touch...gps works good so far and its vig enough to see lol...just my thoughts but everyone at my job with an iphone 5 wish they had this because of all my phone can do..

I paid full retail $699.99 for mine and have no regrets whatsoever. This is the best Android device I have ever used.

I also paid full retail for my 64GB iPhone 5 ($849.99) plus 2 years of AppleCare+($99) plus tax for a total of $1,009.28. That decision I completely regret. I still have it and play with it every once in a while but it was far from worth it IMO.

Can't go wrong with the Note 2, its phenomenal.

If I would have had enough to buy the phone full retail I would have. I had to give up my unlimited data and get it for the contract price. Not happy about having to give up the unlimited data but I think the phone was worth it.

I'm sure you'd get lots of use out of it for work. I use it quite a bit for school. I have an iPad that I used nearly every day but since getting this phone I almost never use it anymore. The iPad basically just an expensive e-reader now :)

I get a 35% discount with my work enterprise plan so paid 450 for a new titanium one. Came from an iPhone 4S and only have had iPhones. I love this phone so far

I get a discount on my plan through work, but unfortunately for some odd reason my company would rather me buy my own phone and just write off part of my bill, which is nice. But I'd rather be on the company plan, my company has one of those business unlimited plans through vzw, but it must cost them an arm and a leg to add people.

Yeah I'm on AT&T and we get 20% off our bill and 35% off new devices
