I had projected that it would take at least 1 year, from the formal announcement, for Google to have any sort of major influence into Motorola's future path (as far as device concept and R&D). Sure enough, this confirms it:

Question now is if they figure out that offering only Verizon the best of their creations will not help expand their sales.

Nobody did, but that's how it has been ever since the 1st Droid. The only thing close to Motorola's Verizon Droid line was the Atrix on ATT and Photon on Sprint. Majority of Motorola's best devices were exclusively on Verizon.

If this happens, I think it's definitely a strong way for Motorola to make a comeback.
