Help Disabling Auto Update Of Apps AND System Updates

you dont. well, not really. when there's a system update, you'll get a prompt. you typically have to accept the update. if you get the notice and don't select to defer the update, it'll happen on it's own. a friend of mine was setting an alarm for every 12 hours to remind him to stop the update.

figured it out. enabled mobile data limits and "restrict background data" for "motorola services". thank god.

Have you had a system update notice since this? I'm still running ICS and do not want to change to JB and get that annoying notice to install now/later every 12 hours. Wonder if I restrict BD for moto svcs, will it block the notice every 12 hrs?

Six years later it is still the same: "Auto-update" disabled globally and individually for each app, still the apps are continuously auto-updating, no matter what I do.
Activating the "Ultra data saving mode" of the Smart Manager app (it's a Samsung thing I guess) will disable the background data for all apps.

Another more drastic option could be to disable the Google Play Store in Setting > Application and enable only when needed.
If you are bothered only by the auto-update of the Galaxy Apps (the auto-update option will regularly self activate each time you disable it) you can disable the entire Galaxy Apps in Setting > Application.
