Help sense 5.0 (Android 4.2.2/4.3 discussion)

I did read on the HTC site that all One X and S models would get a Sense update to include Blinkfeed. I'll try to find the link.

What is Blinkfeed?

Nevermind...I found this > Blinkfeed brings previously hidden content to the home screen, so you can see the things that are most interesting to you at a glance, without having to open a series of apps.

here is an article i just came across regarding the evo lte and sense 5.0 i wanted to share.

Droid DNA, HTC EVO 4G LTE & One X+ Likely Getting Android 4.2, Sense 5

]
....A noted HTC leakster claims that the HTC One X+, HTC One X+ LTE, HTC EVO 4G LTE and the Droid DNA will all be getting the bump up to Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and along with it, a bump to Sense 5.0, the latest version of HTC’s skin that will be making its debut on board the HTC One in the weeks ahead.

Sorry to hear about your phone dying. :(

The update to what we expect to be called Key Lime Pie will probably depend on when it's coming. The rumor mill is up in the air whether it will be 5.0 or 4.x.

We are expecting Sense 5, no telling which rumor the rep was sharing.

Reps typically have no information about HTC/Sprint major Android updates, and because so little is known about KLP, I bet that they meant Sense 5.

the 4.2.2 update you are asking about is not out in the US as yet. it has been rolling out around the world however with newer devices (the htc one for example).

i am not sure if or when sprint will get it for the lte as its no longer the flagship device and therefore its possible it may get the update much later (or not at all) than other devices. others will post here im sure as to what they are hearing/whats on the internet.

but no, you have not missed an update.

Will the HTC EVO 4G LTE be updated to 4.3 WITHOUT having to root the phone?

If not, does it suggest that HTC abandons it phones after sale? My phone is barely one year old and is on 4.1.1. I realize HTC appears to have its corporate "issues", but support for its hardware should be a 'selling point' and not one of abandonment.

Keeping all 4.2.2/4.3 discussions here.

its been suggested around the internet that US carriers may be getting 4.3 instead of 4.2 from htc.

will the evo get it? i have not seen reports to suggest it will, but anything is possible.

these phones' life spans are getting shorter now. the lte is over a year old and the ONE is the flagship in HTCs lineup, so all focus is on that sucker now.

sending a request to HTC may yield you more info vs. just looking for random rumors over the internet.

yes if you root you can for sure get this version or any version installed, but seems you don't want to root

I tried to get update manually through settings, but I get a message that no updates available. Will check periodically. Hopefully the HTC powers with reconsider and send Android 4.3 our way!!!!

So seeing as we didn't get the same update as international one X users.... what is the speculation regarding 4.3/sense 5.
I believe this update is the only one HTC plans on giving to the EVO 4G LTE. :(

I'm really disappointed in HTC for not upgrading this awesome phone to Sense5 - version 4.2 or 4.3.

Anyway, I've downloaded the recent update...I'm wondering if I should go ahead and installed it...even though I'm rooted. :)

I'm not sure about my battery life, but I did have an issue overnight. My phone shut off while charging last night. I was late to work this morning because my alarm never went off! I don't know if this is a coincidence or due to the update. My phone has randomly shut off a few times since I got it last year.

What I have noticed is that my phone actually seems a little bit slower since the update and some apps are more sluggish than they were before. Boo!

Updates often leave things tangled under the hood, as does regular use over time.

Solution - backup, factory data reset, restore from backup.

Be sure your contacts and calendar are all up on the cloud first.

Always a good idea to back up your internal storage and not lose pictures, music, etc etc.
