Hello gsII goodbye triumph!!!!!!!

I received my gsII today and wow I used to think the triumph wasnt that bad but seroiusly that phone is garbage after using a phone like the gsII I will NEVER use that crap phone again. Being that I spent the full $300 on the triumph when it was new and spent alot less on the gsII. Going to leave it stock for a while to see if we are getting the JB update. If we dont receive it by mid summer I will root and rom it. Anyways I cant wait to see what our devs can do with this great phone.

My Triumph bit the dust last November. Luckily, my old Optimus still kinda worked. Lucky in that the phone part still worked. Unlucky in that it is still an Optimus. So after waiting 2 1/2 months, last Sunday I bought the Galaxy S2! I LOVE this phone!

yea after using this phone for almost 5 days I love it as well better battery life than the triumph rooted and I see people from the evo v are coming to this phone. That was my other choice but when I looked on Virgin's website I couldn't pass on $100 off the white one which is the one I would prefer so I took the jump and I am not at all regretting it one bit. Matter of fact I just sold my triumph on ebay for $80 so I basically got the Galaxy SII for the same price as I would have paid for the Evo V 4g.

Same here, I just got my S2 yesterday and coming from a Triumph also. I put CM7 on the triumph and did many things to conserve the battery life which is actually great but as a consequence the phone had become so embarrassingly slow.

i did the same thing. i moved from the triumph to the sii about 2 weeks ago. and i am not going back. the triumph was a great phone besides the battery life and crappy signal. it just didnt get love from moto or vm. RIP Triumph.

Yea its just so far behind now though too. Although if they would have had the camera fixed completely on ics im ashamed to say this but i would still be using it

You wouldn't have been alone. I was out of touch with mods and things after I put on CM7. I took a quick look the triumph mods before getting the S2 and likewise if it wasn't for a camera issue on ICS I might have stuck it out a few more months also to see if S3 or anything else came along.

Only thing that concerns me about the S2 is the battery life, I hate charging every day. I haven't activated it yet and just configured wifi on it and it didn't last the full 24hrs.

Does anyone know if I activate the S2 today whether a new month starts from today? My triumph starts a new month every 6th of the month. I prefer to keep that date.

I just activated my S2 yesterday and the month did not restart. It's the same date it's always been for me.

How did you guys activate it? I tried to activate via the virginmobile website last night and after entering the meid, it told me I have to pick a higher monthly plan (I'm on the $25 a month plan now) and then that it would start a new date from today. I'm just going to wait it out otherwise, no big deal.

The S2 isn't eligible for the $25 plan. Only phones that were available when the price changed from $25 to $35 are eligible. You have to switch to the $35 plan to use the phone.

Yeah, if you're on the $25 plan you can either wait until your due date to swap or pay the full $35 and immediately restart your plan. You can't get credit for the $25 and pay the difference, it's an all or nothing situation.
