I am thinking about flashing this ROM, but it's a bit overwhelming.

The latest release seems to be rather stripped down, but then there's like a dozen additional zip files you can add to gain back everything that's stripped.

Do all of them get flashed in recovery, or are some of them unzipped, and replaced with root explorer into the correct folder?

Also, does 3D work with this ROM. It wasn't clear to me in the thread on Anthrax Forums.

I figured what the hell, install it and play around...restore NAND if I don't like it.
I'm pretty damn sure the 3D works...it has a 3D boot animation

After playing with it for about 20 minutes, I see that it doesn't really bring anything to the table that I didn't get from Mobster HD, except some theming. I really like the blue theming to the clock widget, music player, and even the theming inside of Kernel Tuner. Overall, a sweet ROM. I would have expected the switches in the quick settings to be blue, not green for a ROM called BluROM. I really like the weather lockscreen I get from Mobster HD. I'm going back to my Mobster NAND now...but I'll probably flash this again over the weekend and make a working NAND out of it. If I ever get an itch to try out OTG, this will probably be the ROM to go with...that 3D boot animation is totally badass! I also wasn't expecting all those questions during the Aroma installer. I'll have to research some of them to be sure I chose correctly the first time around.

Its a sweet Rom!! Fast, cool looking, you name it , probably has it!! And yes 3D work!! Plus it has a loud sound to it!! And just to confirm that 3d bootanimation is awesome!!

What needs to be updated? It was released in November, just to recompile it with the latest linaro toolchain? It's still smoother and benches faster at 1.5 Ghz than most others at 1.7+ Ghz, let alone the other goodies that are available to Chad because of NDA'S.

I noticed in Kernel Tuner when I go to CPU Tweaks to Link Cores, the only CPU that gets set is CPU1 not both like I intended it to. So I flashed Anthrax 3.7 and now I am able to Link cores and it flies now.

I'm a little confused on the SVN thing.

I have read this:

But I still don't know what to do. The second link I provided talks about installing SVN from Play, and then running it, and selecting a repository for which I give it a name, then pasting some URL from a few pages back, and then wait an hour...what?

In other words, I've downloaded SVN 20 right now, and I've already downloaded the update from 20 to 21. How does this jive with the URL and repository? I assumed that I could just flash the incrimental update in recovery, but after reading up on it, I really don't know what to do.

This is how I do it using TortoiseSVN on my PC. Once the SVN checkout and/or update is complete there is a utility included to zip it up and optionally sign it in the same directory as the ROM files. Then just flash that zip the way you would any other ROM and you don't have to worry about the OTA updater or OASVN on the phone at all.

I read through it twice, and it sounds like you're creating the .zip file (from the commits) which would be flashable through recovery. Since I already have the incrimental .zip file, do I need to do all this?

With my specific situation where I want to install BLUROM SVN 20 and then update to 21, do I need to go through any of the motions you've specified, or can I just flash 20, boot up, go into recovery, then flash 21?

I didn't see any mention of using a .zip as an input to the SVN process, just a URL with the commits. It seemed like the SVN process produces the .zip file, and since I already have that .zip file...what am I accomplishing by doing what you spelled out in that link?

Yes, that's what SVN is all about.

I'm sure nega will be producing periodic "milestone" builds just like the d3rp guys do on XDA. Most devs that use SVN don't provide incremental updates but nega seems to be doing that for now, perhaps until he decides how he wants to handle them on a long term basis.

I prefer to just get my updates from the repository directly via SVN, but at least for now you can download the base builds and incremental updates from the second post of the thread and install them in sequence from recovery.

I'll worry about SVN later...what really threw me off was that nega provided an incrimental .zip file, but I wasn't 100% sure if I could flash it through recovery, or if SVN was somehow involved in using that .zip. I thought I had to use the zip file with SVN somehow, but none of the stuff I found online indicated this...that really had my head spinning

I think it's pretty clear now. When I actually dare to venture into SVN, I'm sure I'll have some more questions...for today, all I want is an updated version of Negalite with the blue switches

Before you make the effort to do that take a look at the screenshot and make sure that's what you want. That's from Revision 21 of BluROM without any special themes or skins added.

Those switches are OK with me. I don't care much for the multicolor icons like the green in the media volume, or the yellow lightbulb...Mobster HD's icons (blue and grayscale) are more my style.

Part of the reason I want to give negalite another chance is the badass 3D boot animation as well as USB OTG support. Also, I can't be sure 100% (only ran negalite for an hour), but the SRS sound enhancement on that ROM was like "holy crap" that's loud. Do you notice the difference?

I may still revert back to Mobster HD as a daily driver, but at least I'll have a NAND of Negalite with blue switches Is there a blue theme that will change all those icons to blue/grayscale?

Those are the standard Leedroid Tweaks icons and I've never used any of the Mobster ROM's so I'm not sure what those look like. On the plus side, there is a 4G toggle in the quick settings which was not included in the original version of Leedroid Tweaks for the ICS builds.

Sounds like you may need to do a little theming yourself.

I am referring to the icons in the quick settings, not the status bar...but if leedroid allows me to change the quick settings icons, then I need to learn how to use it better.

Here's a shot of my quick settings. I think Mobster's icons could use a little more blue in the highlights, and I've actually redone like 10 of them so far but i lost motivation. Perhaps someday I'll finish, and then figure out how to swap them out with the ones in the picture. I especially like the plain black pull down bar with the blue circle in it. I didn't even realize this was different until you posted that screenshot above of negalite.

It's going to be hard to part with Mobster the more I think about it...

Its a pain in the ass, but once you get used to it, not too bad. Im working on something like that right now actually

I have not tried this rom yet but it looks hella sexxy. This will flash with hboot 1.57 right? Cause I plan on running stock-based sense roms for now and don't feel the need to downgrade hboot yet. Also, how's the sound? Does it work well with Anthrax (3.7.0)?

Yes, it works with the stock hboots.

Sound is excellent and it includes Buttered Toast but should work with Anthrax.
