[Verizon] [rom]jbsourcery v5.4-lte[06/07/13] jb4.2.2 The Final Call

Ok, just flashed it with the standard gapps. Everything seems to be working normally.

A few questions, as there is so much going on in the settings menus!!!

1. Is there a place where all the Sourcery tools are explained? Like what all the different tabs and selections are.

2. How to I disable the powerbutton / screen-off animation? The CRT animation, flash of light, screen turns off like an old tv thing... drives me crazy! I used to be able to disable it in stock 4.1.1 by setting window animations to 0.5x or 0x in developer settings, but it hasn't worked on any of the 4.2 roms I've tried...

3. How to I disable the animated blue pulsing glow in the notification shade?

Ok, DH Worph:

1) the best thing is playing with the Tools and you will figure out very quickly what does what. I am still finding fun stuff...and I have been using Sourcery for a while now.

2) Follow Settings>JBSourcery Control Center>Magical UI You will find the options to toggle on/off there.

3) Havent figured out the blue pulse yet, but someone else will know for sure.

Have fun.

Re: Glitchy MP3 playback

2. you mentioned this worked on an old version of Xenon... assuming that wasnt JB or wasnt 4.2.2 my thoughts is the items arent updated for this latest version of JB as it is not yet out for the Verizon nexus.

I found that Google Play works as does the bundled Apollo, though they have other issues which make them useless in this context. However, I installed PowerAmp onto my N7 (at 4.2.2) and the audio playback for the SAME MP3s is perfect. I suspect the player is not the culprit.

As an aside, I just saw the tether button change state to Tether On. First time I ever saw that. I'll keep an eye on that too though I don't tether all that often.

If you have 4.5.5 installed and loaded the patch for 4.5.6 then you have many more options in Settings > JB Control Center > Magical ui

scroll down to "CRT screen OFF"

Thanks! Got 4.5.6 up and running.

This rom is the only one I know of that has the few customizations I want:
1. CRT animation off
2. lockscreen left/right panel outline flash/reminder off
3. slide to left for camera on lockscreen circle
4. no vibration when unlocking screen (maybe that was in stock 4.2, can't remember)

What can I say... I'm really attached to 4.1.1 stock, but love a few things about 4.2...

Now I just need to figure out how to (1) get rid of the blue glowing animation in the notification shade -- I just want it stock -- I'll make the shade animation myself if I can figure out how -- I don't see any flashable zips of them anywhere so I don't know the structure, and to (2) get the stock boot animation installed. I didn't like the stock JB boot animation one in sourcery tools... it flashed on and off, like fading in and out in addition to the colored animation... I like it better just like stock 4.1.1 boot animation, subtle and clean. Maybe I (or someone else), can add the stock JB 4.1.1 boot animation to the tools list?

Also, I'd like to be able to change the windows animation scale, for some reason it doesn't work from developer options in settings for any of the 4.2 roms I've tried. Specifically, I like to press the power button and have the screen simply turn on and off without and fading in or out. But I think windows animation scale in stock settings on 4.1.1 affected the autobrightness smooth transitions.

That brings me to one other mod I would love, is to be able to adjust auto-brightness transition levels, speed, etc.. I think some rom had that, cant remember which one. Found it! Settings>Display>Brightness>Adjust. :p Would love to be able to manually enter the brightness percentage numbers though...

Also, anyone have any luck odexing this rom with odexme or something else? Does it make it a bit snappier? I get a little lag compared to stock, for example in bringing up recent apps, and opening and closing certain apps. Nothing major, but I thought it might have to do with being deodexed.

sorry - long winded post...

possible bugs:
btw, I had the download of 4.5.5 seemingly stop and disapeer when I accidentally turned the phone into landscape mode... maybe it was still going on in the background though. I just reselected it and it started downloading again, and no problems flashing it.

also, when I cast some of the magic spells, like changing notification or status settings, the wallpaper resets to jbsourcery default. Not sure if that is a bug or not.

LTE signal seems to have a bit more trouble when moving around, it will get weak and stay weak, rather than getting stronger when I move around my house to a location with better signal. But that might take some time to stabilize... the phone did automatically dial and self-program after initial boot with 4.5.5.

If your talking about the "blue" pulse on the notification pulldown?

open JB sorecery tools, swipe over to "Mods", select "pulldown wallpaper" select "stock JB pulldown" (should be the first one.

LOL!!! I am a bit of a dufuss...
Thanks!

So... I won't describe the numbskullery I just did with SystemUI.apk... nothing to see here... look away :flute: ... luckily I back things up and my adb works!

I pushed the stock boot animation from my 4.1.1 nandroid and that works fine -- the stock JB boot animation from sourcery tools wasn't right.

wallpaper chaning on mod installs is a side effect of being able to modify systemui and not have to reboot. Lesser of the evils, in our opinion.

LTE signal, how are you measuring it? Netting the signal is the same, but we dont "fudge" the bars to make it appear stronger than it truly is. I personally have not noticed any difference in my lte signal over the many roms I have installed

Ya, you are probably right... I just got used to seeing 2-3 bars at home, and now its usually 0-1. Can't say I'm actually certain the signal is weaker, but I've had to toggle data/airplane a few times more often to get a better connection. Could totally be a placebo effect due to seeing less bars though.

Thanks for all your replies, not just to me, but to everyone in the thread. Truly a helpful dev! :D (and an awesome rom!)

Full 4.6 ROM is available in IRC:

webchat.freenode.net
Channel ##Sourcery

Look at the top of the chat page for links to the ROM and the NEW 4.2.2 Gapps. DO NOT USE OLD GAPPS! Check your MD5s to verify a good download, backup apps & app data in Titanium Backup, make a nandroid backup and flash away :)

Where again is 4.6? all I see is 4.7, is that a toro or toro plus?
