Having battery issues. Not sure what's going on since I've read that the battery for this ROM is stellar. Seems like I had much better battery power on Fresh 1.1 tho.

Honestly, it takes forever to charge my battery when the phone is on the charger and when it's not on the charger it drains like crazy! I don't have SetCPU or Overclock and I have minimal things running in the background (no WiFi, GPS, Email, etc). Am I missing a key setting within the new ROM that I need to modifiy or something?

Any idea of why my battery is draining on this near perfect ROM? I like it a lot but I may switch back to Fresh 1.1 if can't get at least 8 hours out of it :(

did you setup autokiller? if not, do it.. I have mine set for aggressive settings (others use moderate with good results). Once I set that up and rebooted, my battery started to last a long time. I also update the radio.. not sure if that had much to do with it or not.. another thing to look at is how strong is the signal in your area.. that makes a big difference on battery life as well.

1. Did you try to wipe/reflash?
2. Did you update your radio?

I have the stock sized Mugen 1800Mah battery. Fresh 2.0d and flashed his newest radio. Moderate use, I can easily get 2 days out of my hero. Download: Radio Baseband 2.42.00.03.10 for Sprint CDMA Hero Geek For Me – Android CDMA Sprint Hero

When I use the music player all day, phone calls, surfing, texting, etc...My phone lasts from about 6am to 10pm. I am VERY happy with it.

Careful if you do the radio and search around. you can brick your phone VERY easily if you are not careful.

I am running 2.0d, with or without the autokiller set to Moderate (stock before for several days), and have updated the radio for one of the previous Fresh releases. The battery life couldn't be better for me. It's noticeably better than any other load on this phone, including any 1.5's.

You might try to get rid of all of your widgets for a day. They usually are the culprits for me. Add them back one-by-one and see how that goes.

you can also go into Settings - About Phone - Battery - Battery Use. See what's using your battery. Also, click Cell Standby. It should be at or near 0% I think. If not, some setting is janky.

i thought i set it up. i chose moderate than pushed the back button. i've read 3 posts so far that users are using the aggressive settings. what's the differences?? signal is pretty good depending on wha areas i travel to in this small town..

I followed Fresh's instructions. There are 3 places I visit frequently that have had ZERO bars. I always lost calls. I should have done a screen shot of my before and afters. With the new radio, I have incredible reception. The places I had ZERO bars, I now have 1 to 2 bars. No more lost calls when I walk up and down the stairwell at my work :D The store I used to go in that would force my phone to ROAM, no longer roams. So that too helps a TON with the battery. Which ever way you go, backup first and good luck. Prior to doing the radio update, I had Flipz_01 PRI and the PRL 60663. I don't know if that matters, but I figured I'd post it.

are you charging from the USB on your PC or with the wall charger? the reason I ask is... USB charges at half the rate that the wall charger does.

wall charger. that's always a must. never use the USB since i figured the half rate on my WM phone from using the USB from my ps3. bad combo ha but this wall charger may have a shotage in it. everytime i plug it in the headphone icon comes up. me and an ex got into a bad fight and she broke the USB part that goes into the phone but i fixed it and now the head phone icon always comes on when i plug it up. don't kno why but it does charge. i do have 2 other chargers i can use thx to my wm phones however...

I have had the 2.1 rom for about a week, and my battery today stayed at 100% from approximately 0800-about 1200 hours, with moderate texting and a few calls...I don't have the hard numbers, but that is scary good...I have about 15 apps installed, so I'm not sure...it is now at 75 percent battery...I even re-installed the battery status app to make sure it wasn't stuck...I hope you can resolve your issue because 2.1 is really awesome...

My current rom is by Chocmatic, 2.1v3
If the doors of perception are cleansed, everything would appear to man as it truly is, INFINITE! ...this is the link to Choc's rom...

I wouldn't call you a whiner. It does appear that some phones are just quirky. I would like to know why...so go ahead and try a different ROM and hopefully it works for you. Good luck!

I updated my radio to see if I could see a difference in battery life and reception. My reception went way up, a lot less "roaming" and much better battery life. It has NOT worked 100% for everyone

I don't think I would need to do that. I spend a vast majority of my time in NYC where I never have any reception issues. Now that I have an Airave at home, I no longer have reception issues there either. Seems to be a mini-fix for those experiencing some downside to signal strength.

My battery life with Fresh2.0d was awesome last week. I had 35+ hours with moderate to heavy usage with only two charge per week. On Sunday, I'm guessing I did two upgrade from the market since then I'm only get 10+ with moderate usage. I did uninstall those two apps but it helped my battery life again. Getting 18+ now. I'm at 16 hours unplugged and at 73% left with light to moderate use.
