One more bug?

I use PGM2 (slide to wake) and it seems to not work with 5.0. The slide to lock is working, so I'm wondering if the new kernel has disabled touch interrupts while the screen is off? This is a pretty annoying bug, though I'm hesitant to try a new kernel without understanding why this is happening.

That's unfortunate. When did that change? I was using PGM with 4.5 (and earlier) without any problems. Or, maybe more importantly, why did it change, what feature was better than PGM support?

Haha, well, that's fair.

Doing a bit more research, it looks like Google disabled module loading in 4.2.2, but some kernels have reversed that, which allows PGM to work. Kernels mentioned were Franco & Faux, among others.

Any thoughts on if the default JBS kernel will be modified to support modules again, or should I just go ahead and grab another kernel?

Am I to understand that the Magic Clock Widget in the Control Center allows me to un-bold the 4.2 Deskclock hour? That I no longer have to replace the system app with the old 4.1 Deskclock?

used to be able to do this through stock settings > developer options, but I've never seen it work on any 4.2 roms I've tried... as far as I know this controls the speed of the screen on/off animation... even with CRT toggled off, there is still the fade in/out, it would be nice to be able to speed up or slow down the fade in/out and the CRT animation speed.

My problem with the new clock is that nightmode doesn't keep when toggling the screen on/off with the power button. I dont want the clock to be on screen all night, just want to be able to hit power and have it come on, the power to have it go off...

However, the new timer and stopwatch of the new clock are awesome. And the new method of entering numbers is awesome, and I kinda like the swipe to snooze/cancel the alarm.

Now all AOSP (or some custom rom) needs is a similarly designed native sound recorder... the included one is ugly as hell...

EDIT: Is there a list of compatible kernels for this ROM? I tried Popcorn v12 with disastrous results (if you're just tuning in) and do NOT want a repeat... are the ones in Tools proven to work?

The kernels in our toolbox have been tested to work.

I did try popcorn last week with no issue though. Any 4.2.2 kernel should work now as we have included the 4.2.2 blobs to make the kernels work.

The only thing I have found is that I can't get app wallpaper to stick in landscape. I turn it sideways and apply it, says Sourcery is granted SU but it never changes. Works fine in portrait.

I will say though that V5 is pretty rock solid. Tdev you guys do a great job!

Is there a way or proper technique to install inverted gapps after normal gaps have already been installed? I tried just a standard flash of minimus inverted over the standard gaps I already installed and things like email are still not inverted. Hope I don't have to clean flash ROM over again to get inverted

windows animation scale in developer options in stock settings on andorid 4.1.1 and earlier did it. Here's how it worked in 4.1.1 (don't remember if it was exactly the same in 4.0.4 and 4.0.2) But I've always had it set to either 0.5x or 0x, since that turned off the CRT animation. With it set to 0x, there is no fade in/out and no CRT animation. With it set to 0.5x, there is no CRT animation, but still a fade in/out - but a bit faster. With it set to 1x or greater (slower), both the CRT and fade in/out are present. I think this also controlled the fade transition from the unlock screen to the home screen, and a few other window transistion speeds. However, 4.1.1 and later, developer options > windows transition scale doesn't affect the CRT and screen on/off fade in/out animation.

I figure, maybe since you were able to put in a toggle for the CRT, maybe somewhere in the nearby code is a way to toggle the fade in/out when turning the screen on/off, or at least change its speed.

Edit: Actually, I think the screen only fades out when turning off, and doesn't fade in when turning on
