Help charging the Samsung 10.1 Tab 2

Can someone tell me how to charge the Samsung 10.1 Tab 2? I know how to connect the plugs, but how does one determine when the battery is charged? In the user manual they write:
"When charging is complete, unplug the Charging Head
from the power outlet and remove the USB cable from
the device."

So how does one determine if the charging is complete?

when you push the power button, it will have a full battery icon on the screen. at least it does for the samsung tab2 7"
Since this is the original Tab forum, not the Tab 2 forum, I can only offer what I see when my Tab is full charged - it displays "Charging complete" on the lock screen, and a small icon appears beside the time that shows a full battery. During charging, the lock screen will display "Charging, xx%".

I see an icon at the center of the screen that looks like a AA battery. It is gold and black in color with no numerical value. The icon is ablot 3/4 gold and 1/4 black and is blinking. I have no idea what this means. Since it is not all gold does that mean it is not fully charged? Also, what does the blinking on and off mean? The instructions with this tablet are horrible. They state to unplug the charging plug when completely charged, but never say how one determines this. Can anyone help?

"Battery Monitor Widget" is a simple way of getting a battery monitor onto your Tablet's home screen that gives you the battery percentage at a glance. It can also give you a whole host of other important system parameters as well as a graphical representation of battery usage over the last week. I've been using it for years now and I rely on it all the time.
