multi-view for sprint galaxy gs3?

The sprint GSIII has 4.1.2, but not the premium suite that allows for multiwindow support

Ahhh.. so it was only the internationals that got the new features with 4.1.2?
Thats crazy  what does 4.1.2 bring to the US phones then mate?

Android 4.2.1 brought about a few bug fixes that were present in android 4.1.1

Remember, android versions are google, not samsung

Right true man.
So the US phones are getting the android part of the update first and then the new touchwiz features once the carriers have farted around with it?
..i suppose it made sense to get a cure for SDS out there ase soon as possible

Not really no.

Its just being noted that 4.1.1 and 4.1.2 are google android released. Carriers cannot update their phones without samsung first building it for touchwiz.

Samsung are like cyanogen. They get AOSP code, make their own changes (called commits) then release it as a completely different ROM but the base (or the code that makes up the base) comes from Google.

When there's a bug on a samsung or HTC, its 50/50 as to whether its an oem bug or Google.

Usually, samsung fix their own bugs (created by them) in their own build numbers (XXELLA, XXEMB1 etc) where you notice you were android 4.1.2 both before and after the update.

Usually you will see Samsung package their new features in line with the Google versions they are releasing.

It just happens that they didn't in this case, release what they call the "premium suite".

Btw, no SDS in the US

I suspect if we do get the Premium Suite here in the U.S. at all, it's going to be after the S4 is released. Which will probably be in May, so we have about 4 months to wait for this update.

There's been speculation that U.S. carriers may just go right to 4.2 and just forego this update altogether for the S3. Personally I would love to get the update but I think the chances are 50-50 at this point.

But you never know:)
