Oh no I bricked my phone...

I rooted yesterday and then tried to push some things onto the phone mostly dealing with the boot screen and am now stuck in a loop. What do I do?

what phone? what did you push? did you have a custom ROM loaded before hand? did you make a nadroid backup before pushing?? a lot of that depends on how bricked it is..

I pushed this [THEME] ClearLockscreen only *MoDaCo 1.1 CDMA Friendly * - xda-developers. I did make a backup and it had the 2.1 on it. I just have no idea how to push the backup on there as I have always done it via CMD in windows.

First, you need to boot into recovery. Being as you are stuck, you'll want to pull the battery then do this:

18.How do I boot into Recover Mode from Power Off?
a.

1) Pull Battery (If necessary and stuck in a loop)
2) Press and hold the "Home" button
3) Continue holding "Home" while pressing and releasing the "Power" button

Then restore your nandroid backup, which you do from recovery.

The screen I get when I do that says HercXC some other random stuff. Clearstorage and has little android guys on skateboards? Is that the right screen? Obviously its not the nandroid screen I am used to...

yep.... restore from your backup... and you tried to push a lock screen that is made for 1.5.. you have 2.1 loaded.. that's why ya boot looped the phone..

Yes I keep getting the same thing that has no menu.

Yes a nandroid backup. I have one for 1.5 and one for 2.1.

try holding the down volume key while powering on.. if that works you have an older version of RA

If all else fails, plug phone into computer, open up cmd prompt, cd to your sdk/tools folder, then do the following:

adb remount
adb devices
adb shell
reboot recovery


This will only work of course if adb see's your phone, but it should boot you into recovery, if you can't get it the other way.

ok.. restore.. then use Fresh Kitchen 1.0.5 and upgrade the recovery (or do it manually) to RA 1.6.2.. you have an OLD outdated version

Well they said they tried it on other 2.0+ roms and it worked so I gave it a try...

if it's a flashable zip ...no need to push it...you copy it to the root of your sd card from recovery mode ...then you choose "flash from sdcard" ...it's all simple..

Thats what I did and it put me in that crazy loop =/.

Can you try placing the phone back onto stock RUU and re-root? Im not sure, but it is an idea...I haven't dealt with this problem before...
