On Virgin mobile right now and sick of their service I'm potentially coming back to metro as the rest of my family uses it or I would go to tmobile prepaid $30 plan. Anyway do you guys know of any sales going on right now or potentially later for the s3 or will the price drop after the s4 comes out. Thanks

The price will almost certainly start to drop once the S4 is announced. It will almost certainly drop more as the release date for the S4 approaches then drop again once the S4 is out.

Still won't be cheap, though: look at the current price of the S2.

If you're looking for a bargain, your best bet is the Nexus 4 on Play.

S4 release is just 9days away, would be rumors of price drops already. Also the sites that have been posting the S4 rumors have said release will probably be in May

Hate the 4 because of no sd card slot

IMO, if you are looking for a new phone now you're NUTS not to get the Spirit on Wirefly and Rebate it. IMO, You may NEVER again see as Good as a phone as the Spirit for just $160 (if you activate at home) on Metro.

If you still gotta have the S3/4 then get the Spirit, Then whichever S has the deal and keep the Spirit as a Backup.

A $160 Spirit is to me an absolute No Damn Brainer. (Not even One Month ago they were $300 OTD at Metro!)<I guess they're Still $300 OTD there...>

Yes the Spirit is a spectacular phone, but youre stuck on 4.0.4, and a locked bootloader, and most exclusive metro phones barely get any kind of dev community...the S3 is a great phone, and will be great phone and have enough hardware to last 2 or 3 more years...I mean hell, the S2 is still around and selling strong.

Exactly the s3 is superior to the spirit in everything except price massive dev community is a must or at least manageable. Metro exclusive phones don't get that most of the time

Pretty large at least they have cyanogen mod and a lot of Roms from other carriers can be ported over

eh they only really have CM10/10.1, AOKP 4.1/4.2, BlackBean 6/7, King Kang, Liquidsmooth, Carbon, a few ported roms, and a few roms based off the 4.1.2 OTA.

i guess im just spoiled, i always forget that is more than most metropcs devices enjoy across all devices in a year :p

That's what I'm saying. Most metro rooted devices don't even have custom Roms.

Only within the past couple of years has Metro even had devices worth rooting. Let's not forget the Esteem, handful of custom ROM's and dozens of excellent themes not to mention one of the nicest bunch of people and dev's I've come across.

Exactly the esteem community seemed large to me lol and I know the s3 will be just as great. Probably gonna go with the tmobile lte s3 when it comes out but let's see.
