I'm having problems with my wife's Nexus 7. Mediaserver is using up a whole lot of battery. Overnight, the battery dropped 25% and 65% of that was Mediaserver. Any idea what it is and how to stop it?
After about a month of owning my N7, it quit working I used all the suggested ways to turn it on again. I've reset is twice and this battery status stuff continues.

i've had this issue once, and i think i stopped it by doing a few things (though i'm not sure which actually fixed it)...
- going to settings > applications > all > media storage and hitting stop.
- going to settings > accounts > google, and unchecking syncing for anything media-related.
then i powered down, powered back up, and the problem went away. i'll see if i can find anything else but you can do a google search.
