Help Does Nova launcher take away touchwood features

Nova launcher doesn't remove anything. You can still use many of the touch wiz functions. The only issue encountered are the stock Widgets. They will not display properly (even with resizing). That is the fault of the widget and not Nova. Samsung did something with the Widgets in locking its resolution or something in that effect.

Lol are the Samsung widgets good ?

LOL...I don't even know what widgets Samsung offers. I've compiled so many great widget apps over the past 2.5 years, that the OEM widgets became irrelevant to me.

Between, HD Widgets, Beautiful Widgets, Android Pro Widgets...Those apps alone provide me most of the widgets I need.

The one 3rd party app I'm looking for now is a 3rd party Widget app that can integrate different Video players (including Youtube, Netflix, Video Player, Flickster, etc.) into a widget that one could interact with and play without needing to open the app (like audio widgets).

I was wondering if nice launcher removes any of the stock widgets and features and stuff. I remember when I used to use sense phones if you changed from the stock launcher it would remove all features of sense. Is this the same for touch wiz?

Some stock widgets are designed to not work in third-party launchers. They're proprietary and exclusive to a certain overlay (Touchwiz, motoblur, Sense, etc.). Allowing them to work in all launchers reduces the value of the overlay itself.. and overlays are part of the attraction to certain phones.

Have you found a good widget to replace the stock email and stock messaging ones? I've found that under Nova these widgets have huge titlebars which are ugly and take a lot of space. I need the stock email app at least though because I like how it works.

I don't use those widgets because I prefer my emails and text messages not being shown on the homescreens, but I know that Android Pro Widgets has a messaging widget (different sizes). I know it works for text messages, just not sure if it has email widgets also.

-EDIT-
Looks like it doesn't have an email widget, but Go Widget has one (made by Go dev team)

Very nice, TYVM. Is there a way to get that Go email widget to work without using the Go launcher? I'd like to keep NOVA launcher.

I noticed the phone doesn't put the notice in the notification bar when I remove the pen ever since I started using Nova's paid version. Anyone else?

I just tested with both TouchWiz and Nova Launcher Prime. It does not display the notification when the S Pen is removed on my Note 2. I never noticed this before because I always use the S Pen holder on it and rarely remove the S Pen from the device. Looks like Samsung removed the pen notification for the Note 2.

On a side note, my Note 10.1 does have the pen notification when removed. Both Nova Launcher Prime and TouchWiz will show the notification. So I can only conclude that the Notifications are not controlled by the launcher, but a separate entity from the launcher.

Just want to clarify, you mean a visual notification or audio? - EDIT- Nevermind, just saw your post from yesterday. I think you're right. I didn't have the Note 1, so couldn't compare, but I've never noticed a visual notification being available for S-pen removal.

I'm using Go SMS with NOVA Launcher Prime, so I'd imagine the Go Email app would work (don't quote me on that though, because I haven't tried).

I also just noticed that Colorize Widgets has a GReader. I assume that to mean that you can visually read Gmail emails, but in order to reply or edit, I'm assuming a click would open the Gmail app (Can't confirm this because I haven't tried)

Colorize Widgets was another widget app that I had tried, prior to APW, but I just liked APW overall better than Colorize.

It's a visual cue. The Note 10.1 has this. Remove the S Pen and it will put a pen icon in the notification bar. Pull down the notification screen and press on the pen will bring you directly to the S Pen settings. I think its on this because there is no feature to remind you that the pen is detached from the device (unlike the Note 2).

Mine is the T-Mobile version. The visual and haptic feedback work when I'm using Touchwhiz but on the the haptic feedback happens when I'm using Nova Launcher, so there's something going on there. Not a huge deal, but I'd like to have it there personally.

Also does anyone else use landscape and portrait homescreens on Nova Launcher or any other launcher and have issues with the wallpaper not looking right? It lets you do the cropping for both versions but then only one of them works right. It's lame.
