Best Calendar for Droid?

The stock calendar does show the holidays. It shows up as a regular event and then when you click they day there will be a little bar at the top telling you what day it is.

If you want a cool calendar widget get tCalendar! It works great with the stock calendar (opens the stock calendar upon clickage), shows in 1x1 box, and it shows the day, date, month, and year.

eh screw it, ill just post the directions since I have my calendar up lol

from your Google Calendar (from PC):

Other Calendar > Add > Browse Interesting Calendars > Under Holidays subscribe to US Holidays.

Give it a bit and then do the steps from my first post (one above this one :D)

and please excuse all this if you already have all that done but still cant get the Holidays up.

Calendar > More > My Calendars > and check on US Holidays

only IF you have the US Holidays enabled in your actual Google Calendar. (from PC)

If you dont let me know and ill post those steps too.

Hope this helped.

I subscribed to the US holiday but it is not showing up on my phone for me to check. Only My calendar is showing up... Followed all steps to the T atleast I think lol. Any more help would be appreciated. Thanks...

Jorte is free in the app store in my opinion it is the best that has come out so far. I've tried just about everything available too, and resorted to Google's web app cause it was the only one that suited my needs. It had been a pain when I didn't have an internet connection but needed to use my calendar.

I've tried calendar pad, calendar widget, all of them.

Only other thing I can think of is that you may have a different Calendar specifically for your Droid and a different one for your PC. If this is the case you need to have the one from your PC synced to your phone.

This, ofcourse, if you have more than one Google Calendar.

If this is not the case then maybe you just dont have your Google Calendar (PC) synced to your Droid's Google Calendar.

If your not sure if they are, a quick and easy way is to check if both your Google Calendar, on your PC and Droid, show the same Tasks, or planned Events.

If you create a new Event on your Google Calendar (PC) does it update and show up on your Droid?

just added new calendars on google from my pc but they don't show up under my calendars in my phone. Any ideas

I had to separately add them to my google calendar on my PC and then on my phone.
First add 'US Holidays' (or whatever calendar you are wanting) to your calendar via the PC
Then, on the phone: pull up the calendar
bring up the menu
tap on more
tap on 'my calendars'
activate the check on 'US Holidays'

Hope this gets the calendar for you.

Ok I figured it out. After you add or subscribe to the calendars from Google on your pc go to your droid and go into the calendar app then click settings>more>mycalendars then if it isnt on the list hit the stting button again and it will allow you to add another calendar. Hope this helps...

I would suggest Gemini if you are looking for something to replace the stock calender app. Although, there is only a monthly view, but it is set up as a split screen with the selected days events on top. Also, no widgets.

The dev is Powell, and there is a link to the thread on here that he follows http://androidforums.com/applicatio...ini-calendar-my-vision-calendar-software.html. He appears to be fast to respond to suggestions as well.

Below are some pics Powell has posted of the app.
