Polaroid 8" Tablet - Google Play?

I picked up the Polaroid 8" tablet from Walgreens, and for the price it is in my opinion, a pretty decent tablet.

The only issue I have is, there is no Google Play. The button on the home screen to install a third party app market doesn't even work.

Has anyone been able to get Google Play to work on one of these tablets? I tried instructions I found for the 7 inch tablet, but they don't seem to work.

I have a Polaroid 10.1 PMID1000B which does not have the app store. According to Polaroid they didn't purchase rights to Google.

The workaround i've found is to install apks for each separate app. So far GoogleMaps and DISH Remote Access app have worked which is about all I really need. They said Google Play Store will not work. After installing the Play Store and opening it up, it crashes immediately. But if you install each app separately it will work (PlayStore is the exception).

They also have a link to install an Amazon Store (which requires a credit card), there are other stores but none compare to the Play Store

Sure the WiFi issues are down to the fact that the PMID1000b is a budget tablet of unknown Chinese manufacture. Fluky and faulty WiFi is often an issue with these due to poor quality. Generally there's not a lot you can do about it, except getting an RMA and returning it for a refund. You could try resetting the router, power it off for about a minute. that can sometimes solve connectivity issues.
