"Jellybean 4.1.2 update"

It showed up for me this morning. It was 98% finished downloading and I was trying to email something quick, the phone locked up, then rebooted itself. Not sure if it did that out of error (which it sometimes does) or because the download was finished.

It's been on the red moto eye for about 10 minutes now.

Any thoughts?

Go with Thom on this one. FDR no matter what and save yourself headaches in the future.

So, I downloaded the soak test version when it first rolled out and installed it. I've been loving JB. I got one or 2 small questions. First off is the OTA that is being rolled out today any different than the soak test? I ask this because there was a slight difference for ICS on the Bionic. My other thing is this....I don't want motorola backup assistant helping me AT ALL!!! It turns my phone on when it wants and starts trying to do a back up and I can't seem to get it to stop because it takes FOREVER to connect to the server in order to give me info that it has to give so that I can actually access the screen I need for the settings. Also I did this dial procedure to force the phone to pull the update and it wiped out some motorola account that was set up in order for updates to take place. I now can't get that set back up because IT takes FOREVER to access the server.

Is anyone else having this problem or possibly had this problem already? Should I just be patient and wait it out?

Now that foxfi doesn't work, what are the options out there for wifi tethering, anything? Looks like there isn't a great way to root jb yet, is that right?

Use the built in hotspot feature? That's what you pay for so why use another app? I use my RAZRs hotspot and it's great.

Anywho, I decided to go ahead and do a FDR. My main hold up was my Battle.net Authenticator, but I've come to learn I can restore it on my iPod Touch so it made things WAY easier. :)

Are you paying monthly for a wifi hotspot on verizon?

If I remember right, people on metered or shared date plans get the hotspot service for free. I think that the FCC slapped Verizon's hand and said if your going to charge for metered bandwidth, you should be able to use if for anything you want to use if for. Unlimited data users have to pay for the hotspot service because Verizon can get away with it because it's not a metered service...

I apologize if this has already been addressed. My DRM is rooted (bought it used this way). I did receive the JB download but have not installed it yet. I performed a Titanium back up since I plan on factory resetting the device after installation. My question is, will I lose root after installing JB? And if so, don't I need root to apply my back up with Titanium?

Again, I bought the device rooted...I've never rooted a phone before.

Thanks!
