Help how to change default email to gmail?

Hi,
Does anyone know how to change the default email app to use when selecting a contact with an email address? I made the mistake of letting my girlfriend fiddle with my phone while I was setting it up, and she chose mail instead of gmail for sending to email addresses AND pressed the 'always use this option' tab, so now I can't fingure out how to change it back - I know that under the 'always use this option' tab there was a message telling you how to change it, but I didn't get to read what it said before she pressed accept! Now whenever I press on a favourite that has an email address associated to it it takes me to the POP email screen, and I don't have a POP email account!

How can I switch it back to gmail? It's driving me crazy!

settings > applications > manage applications > mail > clear defaults

That should work.

If not then there is always a factory reset

Thanks, that did the trick! I asked HTC support the same thing, and all they suggested was a factory reset - I'm glad it didn't come to that!

Haha! Love it when I get one over HTC Official Support. Current scoring sees me with quite a lead so far

On my Samsung Gallery, you follow lukehluke's instructions settings > applications > manage applications > mail > clear defaults
except
instead of pressing clear defaults press clear data

Thanks. This just worked for me too. I was just about to do a factory reset - glad I didn't!

The current way to control default programs is very cumbersome. You have to sometimes figure out which app is set as default. It's not always easy to find. I like Default App Manager for that reason.
