Hi I have had my desire a couple of days and wanted to ask the experts just how do i get my message tone to replace the hopeless ones they have on the desire.I have bluetoothed the tone I want from my nokia it has put it in the music files but cant see for the life of me how to get it to my message tones I can set it as a ring tone but not as a message tone.Can anyone explain in laymans terms please how to do this

Hook up to the PC, 'mount' the device as a USB drive when prompted. This will display the SD card contents.

Create folders as above, and put your music file there. It'll then be selectable from the list

Or download a file manager like Astro then you can move files on your phone. Still have to connect to get your music though

Connect to PC as Disc Drive
open up drive via My Computer
Locate foulder named Notifications, drag and drop files into this foulder
Dismount phone from PC

Easiest thing to do without having to create folders or move music around is to go to Android Marketplace and type in "Tone Picker" install it then whenever you want to change a contact ringtone, message tone etc you'll now see an option for Tone Picker, click on that and all your music you've put on will be displayed.

One of the top apps on there for me personally.

works for me, my music tones are on the sd card and they are selectable for list

No, but you can download "Note Everything" from the Android Market, and that does voice and text notes.

That's what I use, although I've not had to make a note of anything yet so I can't comment on its effectiveness...
