no im sorry i do not but if you post on shabby's thread im sure he or any other member will be willing to properly show you the steps to rooting your 4.1.2 device.
edit:
haha never mind seems he has already responded to your post good luck and thanks shabs!!
just linking a nicely done video, a few changes and id love to have videos like it for all the big things. rooting, restoring back to stock, flahsing a rom, and how to wipe data properly i think would all be good videos
the video pretty much nails the steps needed to take in order to root his phone but i would like to also remind those that have not rooted their phone yet that ya need the usb drivers for your computer. here's the direct link from samsung for the driver.
works perfectly yesterday i asked shabby if this would also work on at&t variant and so i went over to my friend's house and did this method and i was shocked how fast and how easy it was to root my friend's gs3 on at&t i swear to ya it didnt even take 3 min. basically the mothod shabby posted is a universal method that should work for all gs3 variants probaly cept the international variant but i dont think there is a better way of rooting than this way.
i got the drivers, i downloaded Odin, I put it in download mode and connected it to my computer. i installed the TAR and it passed it said, took the battery out and unpluged it. Tried to boot into the revocery and it still shows the regular recovery not the clockwork one.
i watched the video and followed his steps did i miss something. My phone still works like normal so its not bricked.
I bricked my first S3 so am worried of doing it again. but i need root.
your doing something wrong you were suppose to use odin to flash clock work mod first then from there unplug the cable and boot into recovery then flash the root zip through recovery and thats all. i even did this on a at&t galaxy s3 and worked just fine.
Yes, i used odin to flash the TAR. it passed and then i unplugged it and took the battery out. Put battery back in and started up the phone pressing home vol up and power. Then it booted up to the regular recovery (Android system recovery <3e>) and not clockwork mod. From the video it was supposed boot into clockwork mod and then install the super user but I am not able to since clockwork mod didn’t boot up.
The video seems straight forward so am not sure what am doing wrong.
dont take the battery out i haven't watched the video but taking out the battery isnt needed to be done thats the prob there. so do all the steps cept taking out the battery.
Would these directions/video work for the Metropcs SCH-R530 with the 4.1.2? I see the date for rooting are back in October 2012. I'm not as saavy as others, all instructions i've found so far are before MetroPCS did the Jellybean update. I was wondering if you know of instructions wich take into account the MetroPCS JellyBean update. Can you please help me? thank you!!!
