Software Update - Coming Soon! | Verizon Wireless

Just got my Maxx HD this past weekend (upgraded from a Maxx). So far runs great. I've had no problems. Loaded JB update, did a FDR, and it runs like butter. I like the new look of JB, not a huge leap from ICS, but it runs great.

There are a couple of updates that you'll get with a new RAZR HD. Are you sure you're running version 9.16.6?

To anyone who's got the new update, how's the camera? Better? I'm about to buy a Maxx HD, have heard the camera isn't great. I played around with it a little in the store and it seemed ok. Hope the update makes it even better though.

I don't use my camera that often, but did test it out last night after the update and it does seem better. I can't say it much better. After all, software can only do so much. But the picture I took seemed better, especially in low light. I still have shutter lag, though it seems shorter as well.

I agree. It seems to be more aggressive in using flash and also the auto-focus seems quicker.

Side loaded the update and it does seem smoother. Still not Droid RAZR M smooth but smoother. Battery life has improved by 30% when I would get home from a 12 hour work day I would be at about 20-5% depending on usage now I'm at 50% when I get home. The camera was good for me before the update now it is better, faster especially in low light conditions. Used OTA root keeper and keep root.

I'm getting great battery life too! 83% after 24 hours with 1 hour of screen time!!! Usually I'd be around 75%

I've also seen a noticeable improvement in battery life. Overall, the UI seems smoother and more responsive. And some of my third-party apps, such as quickpic, seem to behave better after the update. So far I see no negatives from taking the update.
