HTC to build own OS?

Oh very interesting.

I wish they wouldn't tho, The reason i LOVED my EU Hero was because of the COMBINATION of Sense and Android (and because I found it way too sexy).

I understand why they would want to develop their own OS, but I dont think its a good idea, they arent BIG enough yet I think to take risks like that, its not just about the os, but its also about attracting the devs to make apps for it and many other factors.

They should really stay with android and keep the sense UI, they already have a great android OS, and people will go to them because of their customised UI not because of some new obscure OS.

Android is going to be for the phone what Windows is for the PC, I think its soon to be too late to go back.

This could have something to do with a (possible) webos/htc deal.

Since it was coined "develope own os", I'd started to wonder. if it is "just" developing webos more towards HTCs standards, at least that doesn't mean another OS. But what does this do to the Androids position? Same goes for Samsung and Bada? They have to do something to make their OS attractive enough to choose over say Android. Would that mean that the newest and best models would first have their own os? Like HTC laucnhed the hd2 with winmo 6.5 when no android phones used the same processor or screen of the same size.

Perhaps when (if) they buy palm, webos will be their operating system bc they would then own it.
