Samsung GS2 not receiving texts from iPhone *HELP*

Hello,

I have a Samsung Galaxy SII (GT-i9100) and my friend has an iPhone 4S. I have no problem receiving texts from other iPhone users but only hers.

It was working fine until a few days and I have no idea what went wrong. Just randomly stopped receiving her texts.

I have researched this topic through many other threads and have tried restarting both our phones, deleting and re-adding each other's contacts and disabling her iMessage but none of the options seem to work. Another friend suggested that I use the app "Ghostly SMS" but that didn't help much either.

Additional info if it may help:
Android verson: 4.2.2
Custom ROM: JellyBAM 7.1.0
Kernel Version: 3.0.31-CM-gc51d155
Rooted: Yes

Thank you for your time, I hope this will get resolved quickly as I am sick of using viber!!

EDIT: To be a little more specific, i can receive texts fine from iPhone 4 and 5, but not 4S.

Welcome to the forums antonlabz. I just noticed your join date. The stock ROM is the one that comes with the phone when you get it from your cellphone comapny. In ordr to have something like JellyBAM 7.1.0 you'd have to have rooted your phone then installed a custom ROM. Cyanogenmod 10.1 seems to be the most popular 4.2 custom ROM faround however be prepared to face some issues as discussed in this thread http://androidforums.com/galaxy-s2-...683-cyanogenmod-cm10-1-rom-android-4-2-a.html. Your phone should be eligible for the Official 4.1 jellybean update from Samsung as described in this thread http://androidforums.com/samsung-galaxy-s2-international/680070-jelly-bean-update-dummies-guide.html.

Sorry if I sounded a little harsh in my first reply. It's 2:30 AM here in Boston Ma and I'm at work.

Thank you :) I have already official updated my firmware to 4.1 JB and then proceeded to upgrade to 4.2.2 via Ressurection Remix ROM, then flashed JellyBAM.

Would you know anything about AOKP build 6?

Have you tried a simple wipe of cache/dalvik via recovery?

I will try wiping cache partition now, but i'm not sure about dalvik as I can't see it anywhere in recovery menu.

EDIT: Nevermind I found wipe dalvik cache. I will try wiping them both now!

I think you are always going to find issues using 4.2.2 on a Samsung Galaxy S2. I found a couple of articles online explaining which devices can officaly use it. One from PC Mag entitled; Why You Shouldn't Care About Android 4.2.2 and a Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean review from ITProPortal. Both mention that there are currently only 4 phones that this OS was intended for with the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S4 making 5.

What is it about 4.2.2 that you find better than 4.1?

When i was running jellybam i spent more time ironing out bugs and fixing crashes tyan i did uaing the phone. Personally i dont rate the jellybam rom. Im now using vanilla rootbox 4.2.2 and its solid as a rock. The one and only issue ive found is sometimes when i reboot i have to do it twice for some reason. Ive not done any tests yet but other than this the rom is flawless.

I recieve everything as i should from all phones and models.

Thanks for all the feedback guys!

It seems that JellyBAM itself has a lot of issues so I'm considering flashing a new ROM.

At the moment I'm considering AOKP MR1-Build 6, CyanogenMod 10.1, or Vanilla Rootbox 4.2.2.

Any suggestions?

If I had to list out some preferences in a ROM they would be:
-Stable with minor bugs
-Slide lockscreen with lockscreen shortcut option (don't really care about lockscreen widgets)
-Reboot menu that gives you options to choose whether to reboot normally, or into recovery/download mode
-Comes with file manager as i've noticed a lot of ROM's don't come with one

Vanilla rootbox has aokp feature built into the rom. And personally ive never used a dedicated cyan rom. Im currently runnin tye vanillaRB rom with no issues other then the reboot hang on occasion which is neither here nor there as the roms solid as a rock akd its a 4.2.2 rom. Which is great as a lot of people seem to be reporting incompatability woth some devices. It works great on mine tho.

I suggest tho mayne trying all three. Flash one... Use ot for two days and then try another.

I currently use vanillaRB with dorimanx 9.12. OC'd to 1.6ghz per core with a forced dual core mode. And the rom is stable as a grannys dumpling. Let me know how u get on if u decide on one of tye other roms as ive not tried tyem and wouldnt mind some feedback.

John.
