So, T-mobile announces $99 down, 20/mo for the One, no contract. Keep service with them or just pay off the phone. Sounds good. No activation fee, unlimited everything, tethering included. No LTE in L.A.

AT&T is to announce $250 for the One with a 2 yr contract. Plus activation fee, even for me as an existing customer, grandfathered into Unlimited, tethering is an add'l fee. Does have LTE in L.A.

I know that no contract and "paying off" the phone with no interest is almost the same as being in a contract, but I LOATHE contracts.

My iphone 4s is HSPA+, so I'm used to it. Hopefully LTE rolls out in L.A. soon.

I'm seeing the TMO deal as a better offer. I have to actually get a side-by-side of numbers to see what the end-cost will be though.

Beat me to it. So it is settled... no 64gb and they aren't giving anything away. I have to say , for myself I don't care I am sticking with Sprint, but they are going to have to come up with SOMETHING to compete with AT&T and T-Mobile for a lot of people.

Well AT&T said it is exclusive for release.. I am guessing that means in a few months everyone will have it

Where oh where is Verizon at? Lol

Probably deciding on which bloatware to omit from their version, being that they'll likely have only 32GB to work with.......:p

Just sent an e-mail to the point-of-contact in the press release, regarding future availability of the ONE in a 64GB variety.

Sprint Newsroom | Sprint to Launch the New HTC One on April 19; Pre-Order Begins April 5

Hoping for a response before sign-up on 4/5/13.Probably nothing more than a definite maybe to look forward to,but, gotta start somewhere.....

Perhaps, but I am starting to think this 64GB exclusive factored into Verizon's decision to hold off on releasing the phone. I honestly don't see the point is Sprint releasing a 64gb version of this phone a few months from now. I mean I guess some will wait and some don't have upgrades available right now but it just all around stinks. 32gb will be enough for me but I see people jumping ship.

Well all in all, I think the average consumer will see the 300 dollar price point and the 64gb of storage and really wonder if they will actually even get close to that amount needed for another 100 dollars. I sure as heck have no idea how I am going to even touch 32gb, even after the storage space used up by bloatware and other sprint additions.

I tend to agree with you but on the other side of that, people generally just think they need as much space as possible without thinking what they will actually do with that amount of space. I hate keeping music and movies on my phone so the 32 GB is more than enough for me; I really only keep pictures, apps, and contacts on my phone with a few saved emails. Everything else is out in the cloud somewhere or hosted on my PC at home and then streamed via PlayOn.

But without SD expansion it's important to provide enough, or else that one detail can exclude a phone for some customers.

The 32GB phone will give < 26 GB space available to the user. I'm currently using more than that on my SD card, and nandroids on this thing will be a lot larger. So I just don't want to have the hassle of managing storage and shuffling stuff between the phone and other devices (cloud storage and streaming don't interest me, and won't be available all of the time I'd want them). Hence for me the 64GB is what I require.

It's the benefit of giving people choices.

I wasn't implying that 32 GB was enough space for everybody but for the regular users it probably is. Here in the States we were not really given the benefit of a choice; For whatever reason, whether AT&T used their muscle to get an exclusive or the smaller carriers just didn't think they would sell the 64gb version or maybe HTC wanted a bigger order of 64GB units than they would commit to, our choices here are to get the 32GB version on T-Mobile or Sprint OR get the 32GB or 64GB on AT&T.

What do you reckon has been removed to make space for the plastic frame under the back cover, two SIM slots and SD reader? Note that while the back cover is removable, the battery isn't (though it will doubtless be much easier to open to do your own warranty-voiding repairs or replacements).

I've not been able to find any specs on this variant so far, so can't say whether they've e.g. shrunk the battery to make space.

With regards to the availability of the 64GB HTC One in the UK i asked Clove UK and this was their response. Not good news.

The stock that we will be selling currently is the 32GB model. We have expressed our intent with HTC to purchase 64GB models (price and demand dependant). However HTC’s main focus is the 32GB and the current supply issues have a knock on effect to the 64GB models. Currently TC has pushed back launch of the HTC One globally due to component issues and the worldwide launch will take precedent over the 64GB models. At this time we can not say when 64GB units will be available.

Here's another reply to someone else who asked the same thing:

We don’t have any news on the 64GB models yet, HTC are only providing the 32GB version SIM free in the UK right now. I would hazard a guess that if the 64GB shows itself, it will likely be exclusive to a UK network for some time before being made SIM free.

Looks like we may not get it until the summer judging by that comment. With no expandable storage, it's either 64GB HTC One sim-free or nothing at all. Looks like it's no new phone for me.
